What the #@!$ is wrong with these people. First we had Harry "the war is lost" Reid.

Now we have Lynn Woolsey

quote:

This war represents an epic failure, a national embarrassment and a moral blight

Unbelievable.

Color me unsurprised.

She may not realize that the entire world hears her say these things. Our enemies rejoice while she makes points with her base.

Disgusting.

Typical.

Oddly the "good war" is becoming what all the detractors claimed would be the result in Iraq. In all honesty I have real doubts that at this point all the nation building done in
Afghanistan is going to pay off. I'm not second guessing the decision to go in and clear out the Taliban, but I do wonder about the decision to try to build a real nation out of a stone age tribal country.

Having said that the way BO has run things has been very disappointing. Setting arbitrary withdrawal times while the situation on the ground deteriorates. All of this with ridiculous rules of engagement. Either commit to victory or cut our losses. Anything in between is simply wasting lives.

I'm not sure I could stand to live here if we end up abandoning the Afghan people, especially the women to the likes of the al qaeda and the taliban.

Just reading about how the miserable defeatists in congress betrayed our allies in Vietnam back in 1975 makes me so angry. If they manage to do it again I'm not sure what I'd do. That one of the traitorous scoundrels almost became our President still causes me to go apoplectic.

What the #@!% is wrong with American voters???

ZERO integrity. "It's all about me, me, me, show ME the money, what you gonna do for ME."

I agree totally with everything you said. My only point is that if we are going to abandon the Afghan people, let's not waste lives of our military doing it. That just makes a bad choice even worse.

I don't think BO has ever put the words Afghanistan and victory together in the same sentence.

She's right. The "good war" in Afghanistan as opposed to the "Wrong war" in Iraq..... actually 2 fronts in the SAME war, but let's use the terminology of the defeatists.... was won back in 2002. Afghanistan was as well stabilized as any pisspot nation under attack from it's neighbor can be. Then came the 2008 Elections.

The pure political hatred for Bushitler led one party ( you know which ) to declare the nation we freed from a wmd wielding despot who started 2 major wars against his neighbors "bad". The war against religious thugs had been won in so short a time that that one party figured it easy to use as proof they were not anti-military or anti-freedom. ( they are in fact both ) you want to complain that all members of that party are not anti-american? You are not who I'm talking about, it's the Party Leaders

With the Iraq front being a losing place to fight for the jihadi, the Afghan front was very attractive. After all, the Dems promised to end Iraq, were supported by the terrorist groups in their election, and were warned not to betray the jihadi's under threat of being treated "in a brotherly manner" The obvious new President was a big user of that bogus mantra (Iraq bad/Afghanistan good) so the offensive was on to punish the Dems for their betrayal. Look at the casualty figures by year.

Politics aside.....

The technique that worked in Iraq ( the "surge" is a crap name IMHO) an urbane high population density situation, with 3 major religious/ethnic groups, isn't working in Afghanistan. The situation is different.

The real flaw in our strategy on BOTH fronts is allowing a neighboring country to supply weapons and provide sanctuary. #1 bad guy is Iran. #2 is Pakistan. #3 is Saudi Arabia, that both bankrolls the jihad, and asks us to stop it......

Woolsy is both partially correct, and treasonous.

The same can be said for the state of California. This state represents an epic failure, a national embarrassment and a moral blight

I seem to remember 2 past presidents and 1 VP running around the world badmouthing us and the presiding president.

Now who were they? Could it be Clinton, Carter & Gore?

How do they have any credibility at all?

The real enemy for these folks IS the United States. Every other action, statement, or activity is secondary and in support of the primary goal.

To destroy the United States.
