Droid and other non-iPhone users need not read. This is not an iPhone bashing thread- this is an iPhone app reccomendation thread. Anyway, if you read a lot of PDF files on your iPhone, I recommend GoodReader. Excellent app for saving and reading even the largest of PDFs. I have a particular [unnamed] PDF (that comes in handy when I'm wrenching on my S2) that I got this app so I could put the file on my phone, and it's almost 600 pages, and GoodReader reads it fine.

Flashlight - just turns the screen white.

Sounds dumb at first, but how many times have you tried using your phone as one in the middle of the night?

I like that one too, especially when I wake up in the middle of night.

Another handy one is the eBay seller tool that allows you to make eBay listings quickly using your camera or camera roll to upload pictures.

If you have a RAM mount on your bike or ride in a car a bit, AgileSpeed is a nifty app with a GPS-based speedometer, odometer, altimeter, and trip meter.

MapQuest provides GPS with audio "voice" route-directions.
AppBox provides a suite of sub-apps; some cool & useful while others are redundant & silly.

My S-phone has crashed a few times since last software update. Crashed only once during preceding year +.

+1 Map Quest GPS updated for iPhone 4
Photoshop: allows simple photo adjustments.
eBay
Dragon Search: voice recognition search, very handy when on the road.
Navtronics Marine Navigation: $4.99. Very useful back up on boat, has remarkably useful current tables for fisherman.
Medical Spanish. Don't use it myself, but a doctor friend of mine says it's great.
Voice memo: I use this mostly to send memos to myself when I think of something important, especially when I get an idea in the middle of the night which I might otherwise have forgotten.
I must say that I am very impressed with the new camera and the HD video.

I like the
photobucket app,
pandora is cool
iheart radio is cool for me because I live in killeen right now and Have a home in Lake Charles and I have radio staions I like from both areas so I can listen to the ones I want (provided they are clear channel stations),
face book is good,
ebay is nice.

A really neat one to play with and I swear if you download it you will be running around your house scanning barcodes to see if you were ripped off or how well it works is an app called red laser.

Another good app that I like for when me and my wife are running close to going over on our minutes is skype since you can call people on that.

Espn scorecenter
Light (tho I don't use it as much with iPhone 4. Set camera to video, turn on flash, makes a great flashlight)
Navagon gps
eBay

Use the flashlight app all the time. used it the other night when refilling the air in my 4x4 truck tires when I cam off the beach. The only problem was I left the iphone on the top of the tire when I was done filling the tire. Yep you guessed it. I pulled away with it there and ran over the phone. Cracked the screen but the phone is still working. Got on the waiting list for the new one.

Now if they only had an app that would tell me where I leave it all the time.

I hate to admit the number of times I've used "Find my iPhone".

What flashlight app are you guys using? All the ones I've seen so far have all sorts of goofy stuff I don't think I'd use. Just plain old red or white light would be nice.

Court,

Just plain ol' "Flashlight" and is free.

Mine is at v2.2. By default it is set to just do white, but it is easy to set it up to do colors and the trippy stuff.'

I am using the trial of mobile me and I really like the fact that it intergrates all 3 of my computers(one is a windows even) and my phone. I just wish that it was not $99 all at one time for that service. I wish they would break it up monthly or something.

Here's an app that works across iPhone and Droid platforms:

It's just called "Bump".

Lets you exchange information, photos, and MONEY by bumping phones.

Works on iPhone, Android, iPad, Windows Mobile, and there are even apps for your PC or Mac that let you bump your home computer to trade info.

Gads I'd never tried Pandora . . talk about addicting. Enter one artist you like (I started with Steely Dan) and you get nothing but continuous great music.

All of a sudden I got interested and started studying the Music Genome Project to find out how they did it.

Very cool.

Pandora is *very* cool. And you can keep salting it with other unrelated artists or songs, and "like" / "don't like" feedback. It learns FAST.

I like Pandora a lot too, but I like Slacker better. The only thing I don't like about Slacker is that if you don't touch it for an hour, the free version stops playing until you turn it back on.

Do yourself a favor and get iJiggles. Same thing except when you shake the phone the part you fattened up will jiggle, making the fat part look fatter, or... eh, um... can be used to animate some photos of the fairer sex...

DVR Remote

Controls your TiVo through your home network. Actually more responsive than the IR remote, and you can type searches into the phone instead of using the arrow keys in the TiVo interface.
