2010 was my second Homecoming. First was the 25th. The first thing I noticed about Erik was seeing the sparkle in his eyes anytime he talked with one of us owners. At Blackhawk (wow almost 4 weeks ago) one of the small crowd around an 1190 asked him about the "carbon fiber" fairing stays... He launched into "Deep Engineering" talking about the composites and the sparkle doubled. Passion. I don't understand how ANYBODY that has met him wasn't duly impressed.... NEVER SAY DIE Z | ||

This truly is amazing. Where else can you find a group of people (fanatics?) who will come together at the drop of a hat, from all over the country (and the GLOBE), with no real plan other than to "get together and have a ride" (Last Ride), or to "see what might be happening soon, someday" and just to say "here we are!" (Homecoming '10). The support is amazing. The people are amazing. "The Man" is amazing (and I'll back Court - Erik looks happier and healthier than I have ever seen him). The mystique is amazing, and it's growing. More and more I'm out riding and meet folks, either at a Burger King or a gas station or some other random place (the most recent was a bar one night, I was wearing a Buell shirt): "you ride a Buell? That's cool...and man, it SUCKS what Harley did to those guys...". I've always had pride in my choice of motorcycles, but now...something as simple as seeing those five letters on my speedometer face as I go down the road makes me swell with happiness. These people are amazing. These events are amazing. And I'm proud to be called a part of it, no matter how small a role I may be playing. I only wish I had the means to do more. | ||

Sparky, you are on the Laguna list  Tim, don't fret, these will be available for a while yet, and Erik will always be in need of a little support. Something I heard at Homecoming has been ringing in my ears through out this whole shirt process. Someone said "Buell doesn't have customers, they have fans. What customer would ride hundreds of miles across the country, just to meet the man" Obviously the same people that would give their own hard earned money to help him with his dream. "True Believers" is about right. I've owned many bikes over the years, ridden many more than that- my XB really "translates" my momentum and inputs better than anything else I've tried. Looking forward to a late evening sortie through Deal's Gap Thursday- may do the Cherohala then the Gap tomorrow just to reload my brain with the particulars first.   | ||
