If you go hunting for a CX....look for a "T" model  Those things were amazingly fast for a lil ole 500 twin. | ||

The Turbo puts down 100HP in an itty bitty bike. The problem is that with the additional tubing it doesn't make for a very pretty cafe. That and there is a $2000 premium for even ratty T models. I just love the clean lines of the standard CX. Now with a big bore kit........ | ||

Thanks! In order: The frame was home made. The front end has a ball joint at the top and two arms at the bottom defining a virtual pivot - more or less virtual hub center steering. It worked very well - but the limited steering sweep made parking lot type riding a pain. But it wasn't made for that, so whoop de doo. No Buell involvement in either direction. Maple? No - just Hexcel's Saf-T-Poxy (I miss that stuff) and crowfoot weave fiberglass. The tail section WAS too long - wasn't sure if a short tail would look right at the time. Oops. Funny enough, I did buy an M2 later... EBay? Wish I'd known. I lost track of it in the mid '90's. Last year, I got a phone call from a guy in Indiana who said it was in a British bike shop minus the bodywork. I was supposed to get more info, but never got any. Thanks again! | ||

I saw one of these going the other way just the other day.  This was dropped off for tires at the shop a couple weeks ago. It'd be a good candidate.  For modern bikes, the Triumphs are great if you'd like a bit of nostalgic handling, too.  The Ducati sport classics are great.  I like the raw appeal of the '91-'03 Sportsters as well.  | ||

Looks like a '65 model CB450...4 speed...those engines were bomb proof..robust is an inadequate word...the only ones I saw fail were when the owner didn't turn off the fuel...fuel leaked into the crankcase and the contaminated oil failed to lubricate...Heavy, heavy engine, but a marvel of engineering. | ||
