Moto Guzzi still makes air cooled twins. Some are pretty sporty.

Fat One;
My problem is that I couldn't find an emoticon that represented "facetious comment."

Understood. I don't really know what a sarcasm emoticon would look like. Maybe

Yep. Forgot about Guzzi.

Still a VERY small distribution count.

That is the gorgeous Breva replaced by the ugly sister the Griso.

It is kind of funny but most of the European manufactures sell more air cooled bikes than liquid cooled. I wish I knew what the figures were but I know Monster sales are what keeps Ducati afloat. Triumph without the air cooled twins isn't even a viable manufacture. I'm not saying the first bike EBR makes for the street should be an air cooled motor, and it probably shouldn't, but if they're going to be a viable company it should be the second motor released. It doesn't need to be a 45 degree motor but a 60 degree motor would look good if the cooling fins were done right.

Triumph without the air cooled twins is not viable? I beg to differ, even though I have a bonneville. they have some fantastic watercooled bikes. their big triple, their new watercooled twin, their 675 is one of the best in the 600 category, not counting their street triple and speed triples. rex

That's what I mean by viable. Go talk to a dealer. The sale of the air cooled twins allows them to sell the rest of the line. They are almost as effected by nostalgia as H-D to the point that when they decided to fuel inject the twins they had to disguise the injectors inside of carburetor housings.

I understand 46champ I was actually responding to Rex. That Triumph twin was actually a stop gap after the factory fire that turned into a winner. The design is from an old xs yamaha I believe as well. The Triples are a great bike but would be dead in the water without bonnie sales.

Brumbear My rebuttal was meant for Hex. He doesn't seem to remember the Triumph company line in the nineties that the cruiser triples were fine and a new Bonneville wasn't needed.

Gotcha I had an older T bird 2000 classic 900cc triple was a cool bike but if not for the Bonneville twins 2002? not sure of the first year for em on up Triumph would sadly IMHO went the way of the DoDo again

Personally,I would not include a Bonneville , in any iteration , a high performance bike,although it is possible to modify one.
A Guzzi, no way. Too heavy ,not enough power,linked brakes, and old. Gezzi and Brian MGS-01 that would be a different story.

I did forget about the Norton,however, it will be a while.

I think Victory has something going on however they are pretty good at keeping a secret.

If Erik does release a new bike I hope he can do what he wants, he definitely deserves it.
