Oklahoma Highway Patrol is on Harley's for the most part, but has a few Hyabusas to eliminate the risk of anyone running on the freeway. Anyone have pics of some out of the ordinary police bikes?

Interesting, regardless of occupation, Hyabusa riders the world over have the same physique.

I don't know about the Ks. Highway Patrol. In Wichita they took all the bikes off of the road. I think the determining factor was when one of them got into a high speed chase and hit a parked car in the chase.

Locally BMW is what is ridden, although at one time it was HD, then MotoGuzzi, then back to HD, then to the BMWs. FYI, No bikes for the Texas troopers (DPS).

Phoenix and surrounding "burbs" use Beemers, Hardleys, Honda ST1300's, and the good 'ol faithful Kawasaki's.

Seen a couple BMW LEOs out in AZ. H/D here in Polk County FLA. I'd love to be a Hyabusa LEO!

California Highway Patrol is on BMW's. Most local law enforcement also uses BMW, although there are a few cities that still ride Harley's

Harleys here in Lake County (yeehaw), FL. Being there's so many forest roads, and rural areas, it's surprising there's no Ulysses in the mix.

I live in the stix. Our motor officer used up the motor unit during an attempt to pass a semi on the right when he didn't realize it was turning right. I understand they have a chopper now but it's winter and I haven't seen it yet. Never a dull moment around here.

We ride Harleys as do most of the surrounding counties. Some other agencies have BMWs and Hondas. OK can have the Busa... I'll take my Road Couch! Why no Ulys? Mostly because they weren't promoted correctly. But also because of inside agency politics...

46champ: I forgot about the segways. Austin also has bicycles, horses, and segways for the APD. All of these are used downtown for traffic and crowd enforcement especially during special events like the ROT rally and SXSW where downtown is a drunken mess.

Mainly Beemer twins here, but I've seen quite a few new Yam FJR's recently, so they may be replacing the Beemers slowly. Not sure if Queensland ever used Honda ST1300's, but I know other states have. I heard there was some contraversy that they were not recommended for high-speed work when fitted with police equipment. Rumour is there are two unmarked Hayabusa's in our area, but I have yet to encounter them...

Our state police don't use bikes or at least I've never seen or heard of them using them. The closest to me is Lexington and they ride Kawasakis.
