I work for an aerospace mfg and I repair the equipment there. This isn't one of ours, but I work on similar equipment and larger models of this type. The larger mills have 240' long beds.
I also work on bikes part time and fabricate stuff that I need.
I work for you (taxpayers) with Military Sealift Command. We're the support ships for the Navy and operate the oilers, ammo, stores, hospital, towing and salvage ships (among others).
Here's the ship I just got off, and will be returning to when I get off leave:
She was one of the first in Haiti, and is still there helping with the work to get the harbor cleared and repaired so more relief supplies can get in.
I do electrical maintenance for a living for the last 12 years. Switchgear Technician is my actual title. We work on 480volt systems on up. Our division has been focusing on windfarm substations but we still do papermills and foundries too. Install, inspect, maintain, test and repair circuit breakers, power transformers, switches, cables, etc. Here are a few of the breakers we work on.
Last one I completely tore apart and rebuilt infront of a Honda Metropolitan for size reference. A relatively small breaker for us:
A 480v breaker in front of a larger 5kv breaker. 55gallon drum next to it for reference:
In 2 weeks I will take some pics of the 365kv breakers...
We have done this a few times before, but it's always interesting anyway.
I have 2 part time gigs.
One is my own business producing advertising and graphic design for a number of businesses.
Other is a General Hand for Kiwi Rider Magazine. This may be one of the best jobs in existence for a motorcyclist. It gives me a new bike every week or two and an amazing and unique playground to ride them in. Or I travel around the region to evaluate new vehicles on factory rides.
I am In the U.S Army and I am a 36B which is finance. We have many aspects that we can work in in the finance world. Previously I worked with solders pay, disbursing, and reservist pay. At the present though I am doing a budget job were I deal with the armys money when it comes to what they spend on supplys and stuff to that effect.
I'm a machinist at GE Schenectady...I do not have a picture of the machines but the largest lathe I operated can handles up to 300 ton hanging between centers, has a bed way length of 75 feet and a swing of 202 inches. I must admit I love my job and enjoy going to work...Unlike my previous jobs where some days I dreaded going in.
I am server at a Mexican Restaraunt called Ruby Tequilas. Probably the highest Tex-Mex I've seen in this region. It's fair money. I usually make 250-400/wk in the slow months and 450-600/wk in the busy months.
I work for AM General, building (for now) the military HMMWV (humvee). Been here 8yrs, done many things, currently zinc plating service parts. Second job is daddy day care.
I work for the U.S. gubmnt indirectly. I am eighteen years self employed. We went through a self employed tax structure program a month or so ago here. Beyond the taxation I seem to be a welfare handout station for people who want place to work and get a check, but don't understand performance for pay and really don't care.
So many people out of work, almost none want to actually do anything. Some won't start until unemployment has run out, sure cannot blame them. Hell I'd sign up if I could, oh crap, that's right I get to pay for it but cannot collect.
I have a service type of business that needs bodyshop/painter technicians with a minimum five years experience and your own tools, true professionals. House painting does not transfer, two years experience proves you cannot read and comprehend(a requirement). I do not care if you have had past problems that keep you out of the big city job market, prove they are past by your actions. Must speak and read English. Pay and benefits based on experience, ability, desire. Flat rate pay schedule can surpass big city shops if you can self start, finish, meet quality and material usage standards. No weekends, little or no overtime, five paid holidays.
Any BadWeB body/paint techs looking to relocate to East Tennessee where some of the best Buell riding in the World happens to be? One of the benefits will be time off when I attend several annual Buell events, your attendance is optional. If qualified these can be paid days off.
can you talk to your bosses get them to start putting cd players in those things back in 04 i had to drive one from kuwait to iraq on the most boring road on earth with no music and it sucks.
just kidding but ya'll do make a great vehicle. I have rung the piss out of a few of them and they wont die.
