The link from that press release to "erikbuellracing.com" is a dead-end, though maybe it will only be active after Dec 1, if I'm reading correctly. If I call it an XB12XT-R, will Erik make parts for my Uly, too? |

and the building and sale of Buell® 1125R-based race-use-only motorcycles under license from Harley-Davidson So HD will still be building 1125R-based bikes for this venture? Could there then be 1125R-based street bikes in the works as well? |

Let me make my point a little clearer... Perhaps the Barracuda II will come out as an HD model, and Erik Buell Racing will be responsible for taking that model racing? |

I'm thinking if this isn't a production bike, the AMA is out. How about World Super Bike?? |

World Superbike is even stricter on the bike being production-based. The Aprilia and BMW got a "pass" because they were planning on releasing a street version within a year. AMA/DMG allowed the 1125RR, which was a race-only model. But the press release CLEARLY says "1125R-based." The 1125R was produced as a 2010 model bike, so (for at least this year) I don't see any issues. |

Ok, how many 2010's were made?? If enough were made then it would qualify for AMA. |

Is this the "Phoenix" we have been waiting for?!?! |

I thought the Phoenix was a 125cc sport bike replica? If there were enough 1125Rs made for 2010 to make them eligible to run, that would only be good for 2010, correct? Hmmm...Wonder if EBR will have, say, 200 employees? Maybe working out of a small shop on Buell Drive? |

Phoenix - rising from the ashes, not the actual name of the bike. |

So if Sales follow racing, and racing is based on development.... Are we going to see the Dirty MX back in the running again for the track ? (again I dont really give a pizz about racing the MX, but for a DS/SM platform; it is the answer my garage has been needing for the last 3 years. ) |

Richie Morris donated Danny's #9 bike to the Harley museum this fall and since Buells are no longer produced, they are switching to Suzuki for 2010. We're sure going to miss Danny riding a Buell this coming season. |

Ourdee Posted on Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 09:23 am: I like Eslick and hope he gets smoked by a Buell on the track. That's just ignorant. Racing is a business. Rmr did what they felt was best for their business, team up with a CURRENT mfg with factory backing and support, both with r&d and money such as contingency and such. Rmr and Eslick got pushed to the curb just like us, only worse cuz they make a living with this stuff. To take it out on them is just retarded and shows a lack of understanding what racing is at the pro level. Ps, Danny is just doing what his boss tells him. Remember, he re-signed like a day before the big happenings. At that point the decision on what to ride was Richies' and I'm sure they went with what they thought was the best bike and best deal for them and the big check writer, Geico. |

There is no reason people shouldn't be shopping for 50cc to 600cc American made dirt bikes at the local H-D/Buell dealers. They should have the customers from cradle to grave. How many people learned how ride on "HOG"... I would say that would be about 0% Damn near every Biker I know would buy there kids or grandkids a dirt bike to learn to ride on..... PLUS a small dirt bike would be great for beer runs during biker rally's..... |

I never got into the dirt bike thing as a kid, never lived anywhere that had the land to use one growing up. I cut my teeth on a moped on neighborhood streets 3 years before I could get a moped license at 14. That's what being a street hooligan is all about. |

I grew up with dirt bikes but the place was Phoenix, Az. Needless to say, I rode them on the street. With no plates, there was no need to pull over when blue lighted. When I got old enough to go to the DMV to get my liscence for the first time, they actually called a cop who gave me a ticket on the spot called "habitual offender". (too many tickets) The judge made me wait 2 more years to get my lic. Kinda sounds hooliganlike don't it? |

1975 XR 75 pumped to 110, running with a JC Whitney light kit, from 10 until 13. The MOST absolute fun bike I ever had. every bike I have had since has been trying to recapture that power, torque, light weight, and absolute fun. The Buell is the closest adult size bike that has done it for me.... but supermo is calling, and I need a ligther dirt bike for the trails that I have been tackling. the CityX just isnt up for the task. |

And I root for Buell, even if it is up against Rossi on a Yamaha. So am I ignorant or retarded? If I am retarded, why would you call me ignorant if there is no hope of educating me? Just seams like there may be another issue here. I know full well what racing is. I don't mind being made fun of, but don't insult me for egotistical reasons! (no smiley face) |
