If ya a gonna grow up proper, you had better learn about shootn, ridin, drinkin, and how to stay away from the bad girls.
the talk my grand father had with me on the porch at my first taste of whiskey. I was 5. It was one of those timeless lessons that I didnt see the full logic of until later.
Bless him for getting me in the military, starting me shooting, getting me riding, and keeping me steered out of a divorce.
I dont have the heart to tell him that I prefer vodka to whiskey. |

Somewhere buried in the archives is a remind me to tell you sometime story of a quote attributed to Erik supposedly said while in some high level meeting where Mr. EB said something involving an attendee's ancestors and EB's ancestors wielding a broadsword. As I recall it was a pretty good quote. Might be worth dredging up between now and December. |
