Or was it a 500? I had several 70's model CBs, 500's 550's, including a twin 360...I'm a little fuzzy on the years.

1987 - I was not quite 17, and we could only get a 250cc on a learners permit. Everybody said don't buy a two-stroke... So I bought an '81 Yamaha RD250LC with custom expansion chambers and waaaaaaaaay over-ported : D. It was affectionately known as the "Rapid-Death", had a powerband about 2000rpm wide, but I was very proud it could keep up with a schoolmates '84 RZ250 YPVS!

my first bike before that is was a mini bike with a pull string to start.
This Honda had 4 gears and all primary controls in place. I had a purple metalic helmet and my Dad taught me how to do the Biker salute back then, it was the left fist in the air

Built from a Basket Case 1969 BSA Royal S 500cc/650cc Top End, Welded on Hard tail, 18in over Springer Front End and it had a 225/75r 15 inch Pirelli Tire on the back. It ended up being Stolen. A "Mechanic Friend" traded it for Drugs.
