Suzuki SP125. Had it two days before wrapping it around a tree and going to the hospital for 5 days and a surgery. |

A 1970-something Honda XL250 that somebody abandoned at one of my father-in-law's rental houses. I got it running one weekend when we were visiting and he gave it to me. When I got it airborne on a bump right outside their kitchen window, he laughed so hard my wife thought he was going to break something. |

First motorized two wheeler was a Rupp-Nitro mini bike. After that was a 1970 Yamaha Enduro 100 and so on and so on.... |

1969 Suzuki GS 400. Went to Chicago to pick it up. My dad drove it back cuz the spokes were loose in the front wheel. A little wobbly for a beginner at the time. |

First "bike" was a "Bird Manufacturing" rigid minibike with a 3hp Briggs...soon blown up and replaced with an 8hp 2 smoke tecumseh. My first "real" motorcycle was a 1965 Honda C200 Dream...90cc of pushrod iron. Rocker forks, pressed steel frame and oh so giant flared fenders. I went EVERYWHERE on that thing. First motorized 2-wheeler: Moto Morini moped, yes, pedal to start plus FUEL-IN-FRAME!! Used to smoke Honda Passports all day long on that... First motorcycle: 1981 Suzuki TS125, eventually mutated into a cafe racer! Wish I could find an old Suzuki RS250 and make a motard out of it... |

Bridgestone 175 of unknown vintage. Very fast for a 175. Then, a Honda 450CB and a Honda 450CL (my father totalled a Buick with the CB) followed by Nortons for the next however many years, followed by the M2. |

1973 Honda XL 250. Funny, seems like Honda got strong based on their wide range of beginner bikes that fit all needs back then. Sell 120,000 "everybody bikes" making a profit, and 50 "full race bikes" a year for experimenting and testing as a write off. First bike I rode on was the back of my neighbor's trail 90. Lot of my buddies had S 90's. |

1974 Honda CB550F It sounded like it was going to explode at any moment, but it never did. Probably needed a new cam chain. I rode the crap out of that thing. |
