Just got back from the theater--the wife was as excited about the movie as I was. Nice to see the Buells in the limelight even if Al or American Sportbike didn't get any notoriety (Sorry guys). I've got to get this one when it comes to DVD. Way too much in the background to take it all in on one viewing. Script basically follows comic book story. Liked Sam Elliot's role-he does fit the part. Cage did an awesome job as Blaze. Special effects were also excellent. At first my 11-year old was a little scared by the bad guys, but she admitted to liking the movie when it was all over. (By the way, we also saw previews for Fantastic Four 2 and Spiderman 3--they look worth seeing too.)
I'd recommend seeing Ghost Rider--worth the price of admission, a large popcorn with extra butter/salt and the large coke to follow it down!!!

I just saw it today. I liked it. Cage definitely let his love for Elvis shine through. I thought the sunglasses were hilarious. The casting was dead on solid perfect. It's just nice to see something revered in the comics taken seriously by the cast & crew.

All in all I give it a thumbs up.
I think rushed crappy disrespectful comic to movie adaptations might finally be a thing of the past.

Oh, there was also a nice trailer for Spiderman 3!

I haven't seen it yet, but I really wish they'd picked someone (anyone) else for Cage's part. Every time I see him, he's wearing this confused deer-in-the-headlights look with his mouth open. Not very super-heroish. And isn't he a little old for the part?

I'd love to see Nathan Fillion as Blaze. He's no stranger to action flicks, and is an absolute riot in a comedy role.

(a shot from "Firely"/"Serenity")

fun cartoon, for sure --

we (wife, daughter and me) were counting up all the plastic that appeared in the movie -- Buell bodywork, Cage's mirror shot, the female lead . . . . . ;-}

Elliot was spot on, as was Fonda -- Cage seems to specialize in the aftermentioned deer in the headlights look -- but I doubt if anyone went to the movie with an expectation of good character development, yes?

;-}

I saw Cage's look in it as haunted (which would be kinda similar to being hunted by headlights, I suppose). But I think that's what he was supposed to be - a haunted soul who wished he didn't make that deal... I thought he did a great job. Special effects were excellent, lots of Buell shots - hope they make a sequel!

Okay, i missed Stan Lee,Did he show up anywhere? And was I the only one who noticed the Spirit of vengeance flipping off the "man" at the bridge? My wife tells me I was suffering "contact high" from Captain Spliff sitting 2 rows behind us reeking of the Ganj!
(you would think at $11.00 a pop, dude might want to actually comprehend what he was watching)

Now I just need another so I can open it and play.

"Because tubers rock!"

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... but mine is the same as his.

It should have been an M2, though!

I did not see Stan in Ghost Rider, but he was in this weeks Heroes episode as the bus driver that picks up Hiro. I thought I saw Ghost Rider flip off the guy but thought I was seeing things.

I will have to wait for the DVD maybe they hid Stan in the Carney scenes or some such and did not make him obvious in this one. Kind of strange though as he usually makes an appearance in the Marvel movies.

From what I have read Stan Lee only appears in adaptations of comics he has created. He did not create the Ghost Rider comic.

i am pretty sure stan lee was mentioned in the credits, don't remember what for....???

From IMDB;
Did Stan Lee originally create the comic book of Ghost Rider?
No, the motorcycle-riding supernatural character Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze) was created by writer-editor Roy Thomas, writer Gary Friedrich and artist Mike Ploog. He first appeared in "Marvel Spotlight" volume 1, #5 (Aug. 1972). Stan Lee by this time was Marvel Comics' publisher, and no longer the editor-in-chief. Note: Marvel Comics in the 1960s had an non-supernatural Old West character named Ghost Rider, later renamed Phantom Rider, who had been created by Thomas, Friedrich, and artist Dick Ayers. He is unrelated to this Ghost Rider, although the character Caretaker in the Ghost Rider movie is named Carter Slade, which was that Western Ghost Rider's name.

The motorcyling Ghost Rider received his own series in 1973, which lasted issue #81 (June 1983). The character was revived with a different host body, Dan Ketch, in the 1990s. Johnny Blaze in the 2000s became the Ghost Rider once again.

i saw an interview where stan stated he did not cameo in ghost rider.

I liked the flik, but then again, I didn't go into the theater expecting to see Gone with the Wind or Appocolypse Now.

I have the Blaze stunt cycle AND the Hell Cycle...complete with "Flickering Flames and Roaring Engine Sounds". Yeah, I am cool like that...or is that nerdy?

Saw it last night & was pleasantly surprised. Sam Elliot, Fonda, both great, & Cage did a decent job.

I really was expecting a much cheesier movie, ( not that I don't trust you guys, but if a Cyclone was in a porn movie, we'd all recommend it to a nun ) and the cheese level was lower than Fantastic Four, and beat the Hulk all to blazes. Not a life changing movie, but hey.

I can understand using X-1's, the seat section is the coolest looking,( IMHO ) more heavy metal than a S3 or M2.

Favorite line in the movie's from the goth chick that Blaze saves. "...edgey..." LOL
