I want to announce that as of Feb 10th I will no longer be in the Buell business. I am moving back to Iowa to be with Kandie and our dogs. The past 2 years and 9 months have been really hard, living apart all week. I just can’t do it anymore. I will be opening my new business, Double Lung Archery Inc. on March 1st in LaPorte City Iowa. This has been a hard decision for me to make. I love the Buell business and all of my friends/customers all over the US and abroad. I am going to miss doing business with all of you. Of course, I’ll still be hanging out on Badweb and ATC, just not as a dealer/sponsor. My choice has nothing to do with the people at HD/Buell of Appleton. They have been great to work for and with. They are a good dealership and I have no doubt they will continue to take good care of Buell riders and customers. Please continue to do business with them. I am not sure who will replace me yet but we have a couple people in mind. For now, talk to Ray or Z in the parts dept. You will need to call 866-757-1651. I am going to help them transition as much as I can, probably even after I have left. They have my cell number as many of you do. I will still be handling all the Buell stuff until the 10th of Feb. I cannot thank you all enough for the past 7 years. I hope you all will wish me well in my new business. I have always wanted to own my own business and this is my chance. I had to go for it! |

Wow! Feb. 10 will be a black day for Buell. Maybe someone in Buell HQ will realize it would be well worth it for them to hire you as "director of customer relations" for a fat salary and allow you to telecommute from Iowa, AND you could still run your archery business. Thanks for your help in the past and best wishes for the future. |

Daves, this is quite a surprise. I admire your courage in taking on the challenge of opening your own business. That is a thought that I have entertained many times, but never took the next step. Buell is going to loose a great asset. Best of luck to you, Kandie and the dogs. |

Thanks for all your help Dave. It must be cool on your part to know that you've had a hand in building so many custom Buells and otherwise keeping us all on the road with reliable access to parts for reasonable prices. I'd imagine you're about as close as any of us are going to get to knowing someone "famous" personally. Good luck in your latest business venture. |
