Let's try posting this question here.

Are there any "soft metal" parts in this tranny? As in brass or copper bushings, washers, spacers, etc.?

The reason I ask is because Mobil 1 75wt/90 tranny oil comes highly recommended here, and I use it with much satisfaction. However, it is a GL5 rated oil. It is my understanding that GL5 oils are corrosive to soft metal parts.

I seem to remember the the shiftshaft bushing being a copper color.

Transmission oil in X-engines is no rocket science.

This theme was already overdone lately.

As long as it is no salad oil and as long as it has no friction modifiers, you can use almost any kind of motor or transmission oil you like, in such a ruggedly and simple designed transmission,IMO.
