is anyone available for Friday rides?
i have the little one in daycare on Fridays... it would be nice to have a few good mountain rides before it gets too cold / snowy. weekday rides seem to be a lot better in the way of avoiding LEOs and bicyclists....

I may be able to. I need to get my bike registered in Colorado tomorrow and if that goes without a hitch I'd be able to ride on Friday. I live in Canon City.

sorry, J2... i guess i should have specified. i live in SW Denver area. it would be a pretty long ride just to get TO Canon City.

the rides i had in mind would be front-range-area, not terribly far from Denver.

I was just checking out Highway 67 on Google Maps. I didn't think you could make it down this way. I may be able to make it up there is you want to try 67 out. Let me know.

Jody, make sure you get a VIN verification inspection first (since your bought it out of state). Also, depending on the state, the title may need to be notarized. I found this out the hard way last week when I tried, without any luck, to register the 95 S2. I sent the title back to the original owner to have it notarized.....

J2 - did you get the bike registered? is this ride contingent on success in that venture?
that's funny you mentioned hwy67...
i have not explored about half of it (because it is DIRT). the half that i HAVE explored is pretty awesome. if you really want to make the trip North, i think it would be great to meet up. if you don't want to go ALL the way North, we could even meet in Deckers or something.... anyway, let me know. i have many other awesome route ideas off of / near 67.

Frank and Jason, I'm part of the way complete with the registration process, I had the VIN number verified this morning. I plan to get the tag in a little bit. No problems in a small town with such things, usually.

I wish that dirt section of 67 would be paved! I think it would be easy to meet in Deckers as long as it isn't early morning. I'll probably come up through Florissant to get there. Jason, I'll pm you with my phone number in a bit. Frank, do you have a day off coming to you to join us?

No, I will be working. Just about everyone else has a day off due to recent activity but I need to be in at 0500 and will work until I have my weekly 40 hours in around 1230. I am still hard at work on the 95 S2 but if you guys find yourself down Fountain way and want to stop for a beer or soda you are welcome to come by. The only thing I ask is you give me a call (719-200-4957) before hand so I can make sure I am home and not doing errands.

I need to post some pictures but so far all I have done is removed the bodywork, headers, exhaust and some minor stuff in an effort to get a better assessment of what I need to do. So far I need to replace the following:
tires
wheel bearing
speedo
neck bearings
isolator bolts
all cables
exhaust seals
rebuild carb
repair kick stand

etc

Actually not much and it would not take much time if I had all the parts...LOL

Jody -
what time would you like to meet? if we meet up in Deckers, where would you like to ride from there? any ideas? if you come up there the way you suggested, how much farther do you really want to go (as you will have already been riding for what, like... three hours)?

Dan and I are planning a ride on Sat (it's suppose to be a beautiful day), possibly thru Evergreen to Echo Lake into Idaho Springs then up the new highway to the casinos (I never can remember the name), then Peak to Peak to Coal Creek Canon.

If anyone will be around maybe we can meet up. And where are you JC?

Hi John
We just got back. did about 220 miles. We were going to do Shadow Mtn on the homeward bound trip but it started raining. so, did Turkey Creek back. Still got some rain but it wasn't bad.

Got clipped by a deer on Turkey Creek, he fell down, got up, then crossed in front of Dan. It all happened so fast and I just kept on going. Dan saw it all happen. Glad I didn't get knocked off the bike. The Good Lord was with me.

We're gonna try to go out again next wk, maybe we can hook up. Then we're off to Vegas.

Julie

Jody Lynn and I had a nice ride down South to West Cliff Colorado. I noticed the Royal Gorge train passes right by the gas station we always meet at.
Frank

In West Cliff there was another train from the old Rio Grande line.

No rain but it looked like it might at any minute. We had some Sportbike riders come up on us and they were the most considerate riders I have run into in a while.

Check that rear tire. Think I can get another 100 miles out of it?

Just ride in tight circles, you still got tread on the sides. : )

Sorry I've been absent here for a while.
New work schedule, off on Thu and Fri, HC-HD is coming on as a sponsor soon.

Sold my Shovelhead, wasn't riding her anymore, then Loretta went in the shop for a warranty cam replacement.
At least I can take something out for a half-hour lunch ride when I get to Jonesing too much for wind.

Max has her torn down, waiting for parts now.
When she gets home, she gets a new set of sliders from Dark Horse and a Kick-Ash windscreen.

Gotta get ready for work, it's my Friday!!

Zac, when you get the chance can you check the price and if you have in stock the following parts numbers:
34745-90 Inspection cover
25430-94A Primary cover

Also, it is a great thing that you all are becoming a BadWeb sponsor. I assume you will have your own section under parts and service. Hopefully there will be a BadWeb discount in there somewhere.

Keep us up to date on the status..

Blake sent me some old banners and I talked to Bones about some current stuff.
We'll be coming online in the next week or two.
I'm pretty excited.
We have a lot of old Buell stuff that needs going thru, then we can justify more new stuff.

Saw Max today, he said he's gonna be doing a little OT because he doesn't like having a bike on the lift this long.
Should have Loretta back real soon.

BTW, anybody need an '02 Blast flyscreen?

Later

What color is the flyscreen? Does it have fasteners with it? I've got an '06 Blast that I want to polish up a bit and then sell.

My week is starting to get real busy getting everything ready for the Inside Pass at Vegas.

Just a thought about a Buell(for the Badweb) interest story related to HC: Talk about the two Pikes Peak entries and how HC helped out the other dealer at the last minute. I'm also interested in the fork mods the Latus team made on the TT they got from you guys.

Midnight Black, no fasteners.

I'll talk to Dave about that. He went to the race, I had to work

Hey Zac,

I would be interested in the blast screen. I haven't yet finished getting Sean's bike back together, but it looks like I will be going back to standard black...just don't want to spend the money right now for another custom blue "Shelby" paint job.

Let me know.

And in other news, I got my tires today!

Julie,
Yesterday, I rode up Coal Creek Canyon to the peak to peak highway, then over to Central city and back thru Evergreen. Leaves are changing nicely. Have a safe and good trip to L.V. Maybe get together after your back.
