Author Message   Glitch Posted on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 - 07:30 am:        I •••••• up Sunday. Brian and I went up to do a few loops, and ride around. Going up 60 from TWO I found some gravel. The bike felt like it just folded up under me. My knee took the hit, it hurts. The bike broke the front brake lever, the right foot peg, and my crossroads are bent. That's about it, I think. Good thing we were taking it easy, or Brain could have run me over, 1098 tracks across my back would not have been fun. I'm sure (pretty sure) I can have the bike fixed before MB-V, but, I'm not sure I'll be riding, I can't get my knee in the riding position, hopefully there's enough time, and I'm not too old to heal up quickly.   Rubberdown Posted on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 - 08:13 am:        Sorry about the biff, Glitch. And take Ibuprofin for any swelling. If that doesn't work... put some windex on it. You should be good to go by badness! I couldn't start the bike up (would have disturbed the sleeping baby) and monitor things in real time... but I was going to check that feature out this weekend. It appears as though my TPS is still set correctly, but I am going to go through the process to do it anyway. And I don't have any trouble codes stored in the history. I wish I had some knowlegable tuning folks and a dyno here locally. I would really like to optimize my maps. There is a dyno at Rocket Harley, but I would rather have a good swift kick in the shins than go in there again. I'll try to drop it off for ya, I'll be coming by the your on Thursday after work. Know its short notice, but wanted to pass it along. Tally is having a open track day this Saturday, spots still open for Novice,Int and Adv. . Also...This fall theirs talk of a track day at CMP, which is Carolina Motorsports Park in S.C sometime this fall. The track been reconstructed, new pit area and garages added. Their might even be a tire test day for a set of tires at a special price. Includes free lunch. If anyone thinks they might like to do this let me know. I'll try to find out prices and dates if anyones in. I might be able to work out some deals for a club rate if we get at least 8-10 folks to go.   Duc_htr Posted on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 - 11:50 pm:        Dave, Hang in there buddy... If I know you, you will be riding again in no time... I bought a 2000 GT back in Nov. and had to rebuild the motor... Got that finished a couple of weeks ago, and got it back in about a week before the event... got all the issues worked out of it before this past weekend. ran like a champ... It's currently bone stock, except for tires... I was running Toyo RA1s that had been shaved down... I was really impressed with the car, considering I haven't done any work to the suspension... Next step is to get all the safety equipment in the car so I can at least get my comp license... rollcage, nets, driveshaft loop, etc... then I will go from there replacing springs, shocks, control arms, drive shaft, put a torsion rear end in it, paint her up pretty etc. it's a work in progress, but at least I know I can run with some of the slower guys that are rookies... I'm 5.4 sec off the track record, and I am bone stock, most guys have 20g in their cars... at least they got the picture that I'm not "ALL" talk... Wish you guys could have been there... Saturday afternoon I ran a 1:31:4 and the guys were saying, well thats pretty good... "I ran a 1:34ish on my 9R" I said well I would like to break into the 20's by the end of the weekend... a couple of them chuckled... and I smiled, while taking their laughs as a challenge... I ran 70% of my laps on Sunday, outside of traffic, in the 29s... a couple of guys who I know well said, "DAMN Thats awesome!", the rest still said... "well thats pretty good", but without the chuckles... then they asked, but can you race wheel to wheel? and I said, can you ride a motorcycle over blood mountain knee to knee? how about highway 60? or even better yet, lets talk about 180, and the videos I have of that... Now for those who don't know me... I am a little too cocky... but it's racing, and half of beating the guy in front of you is mental... I am simply starting early... It really means a lot to me. I had no idea. Thanks for the support, the phone calls, the parts...everything. Y'all are tops in my book! Shred has pegs and a brake lever. Minitrucker has copied the Crossroads mounting bracket. Would it be awesome or what if we had full access to scanners, CNC, plotters, Water Jet cutters and the like! U4euh, Jim, shoot me a PM about your Crossroads bars, I too have(did have) the 7o bars. The right one took most of the hit it looks like, ground off a bit of the end of it. The kevlar/carbon fiber frame protectors worked well, thank goodness. The knee works pretty good, thank goodness I didn't hit the knee cap, it was more to the inside. Not sure exactly how I got hurt where I did, I think though, that to bike hurt me more, the way it came down on me, than the road did. Thanks to Nurse Ann (Hello! Nurse!) I've got the best care ever. Just be careful about copyright/patent issues. If you sell them, you may be setting yourself up for some trouble. But I'm thinking if someone was to purchase a block of aluminum in some fashion, and you were to borrow it and put it in your magical whiddlin' machine and return it to them in a different form, say, one that looks just like the crossroads bracket, you may be ok.   Ratyson Posted on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 - 09:14 am:        Glad to hear you and your steed are on the mend Dave!
