Not a problem!

I spoke with a couple members about the club - and it looks like we are going to continue having the meetings/rides. The rides are on the First Sunday of each month - we meet in Morrison - but I can't remember the name of the restaurant - I'm drawing a blank....

I'll get back to you on that.

The meetings are the second Tuesday of every month - 7pm at Dewey's http://www.deweysamericangrill.com/home.html

We are not going to have a website anymore though.

Apparently at one of the meetings the HOG chapter came in and invited us to be a part of them...but why would we want to do that? we are on Buells...That's why we had BRAG.... I guess maybe I just don't get it.

Buell,
Ever since Buell Motor Co discontinued the whole of Brag i have been wondering what was going to happen to thunderclub. I only rode out with you guys once, but it was great fun.
Since the HD dealerships are not allowed to sponsor other bike clubs (besides factory ones), RMHD kinda had to pull their support. I am sure it wasn't easy for them. Not that it makes it any better.
Anyway it was nice of the HOG chapter to make the offer.

Post that sunday meeting place when you find out. i'll find a way to be there.

Graphtricks, I live in thornton. (in spite of what my profile says.) i'll send you a PM and you can e-mail me if you want to buzz down there together.

I want to thank you for making me feel welcome. I know with the snow and cold it's not much fun to ride, but I look forward to riding with some other Buell owners. Keep us posted on the events/happenings/meetings. I'm sure I'll be able to make some of them.

Thanks,
Wavy Davy

Hey - anytime! We are all part of this crazy messed-up love affair with the Buell ;o)

By the way - the name of the place we go to on the first Sunday is Red Rocks Grill (www.redrocksgrill.com)

I won't be riding my Firebolt though - I just got a Ducati SportClassic, and my husband will be on his Triumph Thruxton.

Jan 7th will be the meet-ride-eat at Red Rocks Grill. We will meet at Rocky Mountain H-D at 8:30 and ride (long way, of course) to Red Rocks Grill. If you do not want to go on the ride (or can't) then plan on meeting at Red Rocks at 9:30.

Jan 2nd will be our monthly get-together at Dewey's at 7pm.

I look forward to meeting you!

Well, THAT was fun! I ended up at the Red Rocks Grill this Sunday morning, Jan 7 at 9:30am. Had a lovely breakfast, but the motorcycle conversation was a little slow, since I was by myself! I asked the hostess if there were any Buell motorcycle people there, but she said one guy had left before 9:30 assuming no one would show up. I guess this qualifies as a missed connection. Maybe next time, and let the wait staff know you're there. Sorry I missed everyone. I couldn't ride today, it was 18 degrees, and I can barely get my Jeep out of my neighborhood, let alone a motorcycle.

Graphtricks, I haven't looked at this site for some time or I would have posted sooner. To find the Buell group at the Red Rocks Grill, go to the right after you walk in, then go all the way to the back room. That is where we like to be. Ask someone who works there where the back room is if you have any trouble finding us. Check my profile and contact me with any questions. Feb. 4th is the next meeting.

Hey Colo Buellers

It was a great day today, about 50 degrees. We got out and put a few miles on the bikes. I only need 37 more miles to break the 1000 mi milestone. Look forward to getting together with you all for some rides this year.

Okay,
Is there really a meeting tomorrow, February 13th at Dewey's? I'd like to hook up with some fellow Buellers, but I have yet to find any!

Saturday and Sunday were great days to ride, except for the dreaded gravel in the apexes. I'll keep playing tag here until we meet.

Hey there,

We had our meeting Feb 6th - it's always the first Tuesday of the month. The next one will be March 6th. The venue has also changed, but I can't get in touch with Dave to find out where it is. I'll post that later.

Okay, now that everything's already happened for this month, we have a firm date for March 6, assuming the time is still 7 pm, but we don't know where, and the next Red Rocks Grill Sunday meeting is at 9:30am on which day? Is there someone who keeps track of email addresses and such? Is there a list we can get on? A phone call? I hope everyone went out in the garage this weekend and warmed their babies up and at the very least took them around the block. It was gorgeous outside!

Great meeting at the Lansdowne Arms Pub with the group on Tuesday night! I got to meet everybody, and hopefully can make some new friends. What a nice bunch of people, conversation was good, and the food was delicious. Thanks to both Daves for keeping it all together. I look forward to more hanging out with Buell riding people! Special thanks to Lucky Devil for the ride down and back.

Thank you,

I will be taking a long trip this summer. I will be going from Indianapolis to Sandiego. On the way there I plan to ride sections of Route 66. On the way back I am going to take I-15 to I-70. Anyone have any recommendations on good roads to hit on an Eastbound transit through Colorado along the I-70 corridor?

Passing on info from Dave K. of the ThunderClub..."Hello All, Just a reminder, This next Tuesday is the 1st of May. The 1st Tuesday of the month is upon us again. This will be a good time to finalize plans for the Lake City Weekend ride. Also it would be a good time to fine tune the Bishops Castle route for next year, let me know what went right, and what went wrong, so we can improve things. Thats all I got for now, see you Tues night. at the Landsdowne Arms and Sunday morning at the Red Rocks Grille in Morrison. Take Care & Ride Safe, Dave"

Hey CO riders!

My buddy and I are trailering out to CO this July for two weeks of riding in the mountains. We will be going on the cheap (camping mostly), since we are both poor dirt farmers married to our cuzins from KY.

What we are planning to do is to drive his truck to different locations and park it (like in a campground for security purposes), then take off on the bikes for day trip forays into the mountains, with maybe an over nighter thrown in where we camp off of the bikes.

Has anyone ever done this? Can anyone give us the benefit of their experiences? What are the must see/do rides? Thanks for all of your help in advance!

We would be glad to do the same for any of you who would like to come East to feel what you Buells ride like with an extra 20% HP when you get out of the altitude.

Jimi

Jimi, my first recommendation is you MUST ride over Trailridge road in Rocky Moutntain National Park - highest continuously paved road in the continental US, and a spectacular ride! Suggest doing that during the week rather than on a weekend due to traffic.
I live in Fort Collins, and can map a couple of fun routes near there. Estes Park to Nederland and then Boulder and back is a GREAT (long) day ride. Further West - the road from Kremling to 134 to 131 to Walcott is also really fun. South and West from there - Hwy 133 between Carbondale and Hotchkiss is a sweet ride, as well as 92 at Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
I'm sure others will chime in on their favorites.

I've not ridden the entire state, yet, but work with a guy who has, and could get some more ideas if you need them depending on where you will be staying. Also, I'd be happy to loan the garage and tools to work on bikes if you need that. There's an HD/Buell dealership (High Country) between Denver and Fort Collins that is pretty good at stocking Buell Parts. Let me know if you need any more info.

Hey all! I just moved to Colorado from Iowa for a new job and my XB9r will be arriving in about a week. I'm really hoping to find some fellow Buellers in the Littleton/Denver/HR area to get together with for some riding and camaraderie. Would it be kosher if I showed up at your next first Tuesday meeting?

Excellent. First question comes now. My 2003 XB9r just got dropped off here in Denver a few hours ago. I just moved here from Iowa. My question is has anyone else made a move like this with their bike? The reason I ask is because when it came off the truck I started her up and she ran like total crap. Lots of motor noise, low idle, etc. I let it "warm up" with some gentle throttle for a few minutes and tried to ride it the equivalent of 1 block. It totally is not the bike that I had 800 miles from here. Any ideas? could it simply be the change in altitude? I'm totally stressing here.

oh yeah - my husband and I moved here from Arizona - question for you - are you running stock pipes or do you have the race kit? More than likely it is the altitude change -if you are running stock, the bike is already running lean and is running even leaner with the altitude change. Don't stress, it's not a hard fix ;o)
