XB- you'd better get on that right away...otherwise you may have to rent the backseat of someone's car to sleep in.

Hey all, I have a friend at work that will be making up a few dozen vinal pegasus stickers in 3', 5', 8', 12' sizes in black, silver and white colors. He has other colors and sizes too if there is enough interest or someone wants to make a special order. Ping me if you'd like something special. Frank

Yeah, SilverBullet. Black headers would look good!

Jolf, next time you see Black Sunshine or Silver Bullet, ask them about the black header saga.

Sorry guys...That was funny right there.

Bike looks good, Bobby!

Funny story, and true.

I wake up early yesterday morning, feeling good and wanting to go explore some trails I found a while back. Phil showed them to me again about a week ago and it rekindled my interest. I gear up, hop on the Tiger and away I go. It is quite cold so I plug in the heated gear and am doing fine. Get to the trails and the entrance is quite the challenge. You have two options to travel, up and down three 6' high burms with peaks or go around and through a huge puddle. I chose to go through(really around) the puddle. So here I am on an incline with the puddle to my right, taking it easy when the back end slips out and highsides me into the puddle. Bike is submerged in the water and I am soaked. I shut off the gas and struggle to pick up the hoss in the mud. Ok, now I know she is flooded and full of water, crap, what do I do. Give it the old college try, she fires up! Thank heaven, I continue down the trail, cold, wet, and muddy. About two min. into the trails she stalls out. Acting like she is out of gas I figured some water got into the airbox and is now in the clyinders fouling out the plugs, nope. Forgot to turn on the gas!!! This was my sign to go home, turned around and left. Went the way of the huge burms to get out and the Tiger made it easy, what an offroad bike for sure! When I got home I was on the brink of turning purple from the ride home, and my back is still a little sore but no worries. I will go back, with help next time!

Thought Yall would enjoy!

Hopfully getting your bike back into shape. We got to pull the primary back off and do some more drilling but that and the forks is all that is left.

A question for the all knowledgable 3% crew:
What length/thread/size are the clutch inspection cover bolts?
I want to replace them with hex head bolts since my foray into replacing the clutch cable left one of them just shy of stripped.
Thanks in advace!

No. : ( I got bogged down Saturday building servers for a little business venture, and I spent Sunday shooting pictures of a hot chick and her Mustang: http://www.incorrect.org/coppermine/thumbnails.php ?album=14

Bobby's going to pick the bars up for me tonight or tomorrow. The new ones will be black, of course.

So Bobby, how much will it cost to paint my truck to match the bike?

rat, just take one of the stock ones with you to NAPA and tell them you want the same thing except with an allen head. It's what I did, I still don't know the sizes, just bought a hand full, and use 'em when I need 'em.

paint my truck to match the bike
An orange truck?
Or
An alligator truck?
(No, I don't think it's an alligator, I'm just giving MrsG a hard time)

argh! i need to vent-
my girl is PISSED that i got a bike, she's scared to death that im goin to go out and ride and not come back, she's questioning our relationship because of it, i understand that riding is dangerous, especaily in atlanta, i mean the bike comunity just lost a great rider afew weeks ago Jason Swinks (rip). i have wanted a bike since i knew how to say harley-davidson, it's been my dream to just go out on the road with the wind in my face crusin on a bike. then my mom called me up telling me that basicaly im an idiot and that if i do wreck that i die so she can morn me and be done with that. like i said i know that it's a dangerous thing, but hell so is getting in the shower, tho gettin in a shower doesnt pose the risk of an 80 year old woman not seeing you and pulling out in front of you. how strange would that be? buck naked and some old lady pulls into your bathroom and hits you. anyway, im confused i want to ride but i also love my girl and life very much. bleh, vent over.

First and foremost, getting on a motorcycle as either a rider or passenger you have to accept one grim fact, YOU, and any passenger can be subject to great bodily harm and or death. It's nothing about how good of a rider you are. It's simple mathematics, you are outnumbered by bigger faster moving vehicles. Some people are totally oblivious to the danger motorcycles present, then when they or someone they know crashes, they realize that damn, that could happen to anyone. Most of us riding have made the commitment to totally relying on our instincts and skills to keep us riding another day. The rest just think it could never happen to them. My view, just keep on riding, because tomorrow you may not be here to enjoy it! Rant off.

Well since every one else is on a rant and I need a few minutes away from my studying.
I haven’t owned a car in 4 years, I ride every day, rain sleet snow shine, balls roasted to the seat or frozen to it, it doesn’t matter. I know there are risks but it pisses me off that every time some one wants to ask me about riding they feel the need to tell the story of their brother’s sister’s cousin’s accident that left them mangled and unable to achieve an erection or other wise deformed. It gets old most riders do not do this but we are the few and the askers are the many so I guess I will just have to continue to listen to them over and over before I point out that if they would put the cell phone down or unstuff the bigmac from between their fat sticky fingers of their crispy cream glazed hand that should be on the steering wheel any way; and the gapping crust covered kok holster they call a mouth and pay attention to the road, their brother’s sister’s cousin’s uncle’s brother’s friend might still be alive, or at least able to beat off with out the aid of a long latexed gripped stick. Wow that was a long sentence. Ok rant over

Jolfvr666, have you taken the Rider's Edge (or other MSF) course? Like Phil says, riding a motorcycle is always more dangerous than driving a car, but with good training, you can greatly reduce your risk. 92% of motorcycle accidents involve people with no formal training. The course gives you lots of information on the most common accidents, and most of them are easy to avoid when you're looking for them. If you haven't taken it, I'd sign up both you and your gf. Take it together, and you'll both feel much better afterward.

Medved1, well put. Eloquent as always.

jolf -- everyone else has addressed the safety issue, so i'll get personal. as far as the g/f thing goes, my brother (age 23) just went through the same thing. his girl came around. if she hadn't, he woulda had to let her go. gotta look out for number one. the love of motorcycles was around long before she was.

(that was a painful truth moment brought to you by that loveably insensitive bastard...ME!!)

that being said... i'm not the one to talk to about relationships. : )

Medved1, well put. Eloquent as always.

I don't know about eloquent, but funny as he77!

Jolfvr666, just ask Kdan about giving up something you love! He did and that was just the beginning, then was more and more and more expected to be given up and as time goes by, it ends up in resentment.

Of course it turned out great for me!

Sanchez has a great idea! Take it together Hobbies like this can bring couples closer together. A lot of times fear comes from the unknown. Get her familiar with the POSITIVE side of riding and being around people like those in this group who are supports of training, proper gear, riding within your limits and using safe riding practices....(well, except for maybe Charlie)

I get teased because I wear so much gear I look like a Power Ranger. I just say, "I'd rather sweat than bleed" Skid marks!!! helped me justify that. Thanks Stealth!

I may ride slower but I got a better chance of riding longer!
