Slicker, Perhaps you would be so kind as to post a link for dumb old Harley riders like me and Adrenaline who just can't find it on the US site. Thanks, bro. |

Apparently there was a nasty case of PEBCAC going on there. (Problem Exists Between Chair And Computer) I was drooling all over the damn thing on UK site and didnt reset my country when I left. Sorry folks, looks like Milwaukee is still only maybe sending it over to Europe. Looks like there might be a "European Vacation" in my future. |

I'm thinking those hideous mufflers should not come with it though. They belong on a Ducati or something like that. Where have I seen those before? Jack |

Looks like the European Vacation is on order. H-D had some not so nice answers about May and June Delivery of Sportsters domestically. |

Those pipes are like the current Ducati Monster mufflers. Ducati as in very popular in Europe. |

I can't tell for sure from the photos but the XR1200 looks like it might have a sort of minimal passenger pillion to the read of the saddle. And I can't see if there are any passenger pegs or mountings for them there or not. But if the intent was that it could accommodate an occasional passenger, it might explain the positioning of the mufflers. I agree that the mufflers on that Sportster (Nightster?) look pretty good. If they wanted something that could allow a passenger configuration, the Rhinehart 2-1 is pretty good looking: http://bub.com/Motorcycles/Harley/XL-Sportster/R5- 3394/R5-3394.html Anyone know you you can get an image out of a flash player thing like that? If we can get the design finalized here and send this off to Willie G., and maybe he'll give us all samples to test... Jack |

Hay Jack, if u look real close you can see the passenger pegs just above where the muff and pipe connect. Oriented much like a buell. |

The exhaust is the first thing to come off, the passenger pegs are next, and a cover cowl for that p-pad seat is in order. Girl rides with me, she gets her own. |

I always loved the look of the pipes on my old Honda CL350 Street-scrambler. They were nice and high but still worked pretty well with a passenger. I bet HD could figure a way to make high pipes work. Bill |

Slick - Who made those high black pipes on that Sporty? Do they make them for Dyna? |

I thought someone suggested that the high black pipes were Rhinharts but I couldn't find them there. Jon, Thanks for photo, I just wanted to post it and couldn't download it. If you want to share how you did that: jacker@midmaine.com I see the passenger pegs on the bike with the Bub two into one, I was sort of wondering they are there on the XR1200 too (or going to be there on the production bikes). Well, if they made the XR1200 it should have that style muffler. The Nightster is CLOSE, not quite it though, but it comes with XB engine stuff. Picture my bike, only orange: Well, and add the XR style seat, but, my girl like to ride along, hence the 883R seat. (Message edited by medic352 on April 27, 2008) |

there are passenger pegs on it, it has a small seat similar to the firebolt on it.... they will be the first thing to come off. and there should be a small plastic cowl to cover that seat, um like on the firebolt. (damn Buell does alot of things right ) |

Picked up my 08 nightster Saturday, owners manual has lots of specs and info on the XR 1200. Almost seems like its available to the general public. New Sporty is an amazing bike. Handles very well and transmission is at least as good as my 06 ULY. Wildly uncomfortable and nasty as always tho. Buell has never really got that nasty thing right. Always a touch too civilized. First Sporty since 1995 and enjoying it immensly |
