Now I REALLY need a 6th gear!

'03 XB9R, Race ECM. De-snorkled, race kit (K&N/Muffler,) 12 airbox and stock trumpet. I have to tell you, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I am SO thrilled with the return on my investment I left for lunch and went riding.

Holy cow! What an AMAZING difference! Midrange dip...GONE. Top-end does NOT layover until redline. Throttle response and rev-up is night and day! Power delivery is now linear and smooth throughout the powerband! : )

...and before anyone asks, I've put 200 miles on the bike since 9:30PM last night and no MIL light.

This is the best $$ (short of the 12 airbox) I have spent on my scoot, bar none!

Awesome product guys! If you have a 9 (can't speak for the 12's) you should purchase this product.

So, I should take you off the list of people that want one Bark?
Glad it is working for you and sorry I couldn't get them sooner.

Oh crud! I forgot that I was on the list DaveS ; ) I had spoken to George long ago and was awaiting the latest flash. Got confused between the diag. tool I ordered from you and the Techlusion.

Honestly, I stopped following that thread a couple of weeks ago...thought it was a dead issue.

I apologize if I caused you any issues. If necessary, I'll purchase it and sell it to someone who wants one...I don't want to put you out as you always come through for me.

Just for that, I'll have to place another order with you for some other stuff next week.

It's no problem Chris.
I'm just glad to hear that you like it, that will help me sell more of them.

Now, what else ya need?

Did you need to reset the TPS after installing the unit, or do anything else?
How and where did you install it? I have an XB9S.

The throttle position sensor doesn't change, no need to reset.

No need to reset the TPS. The flux capacitor plugs into the two injectors and the O2 sensor. No computer swap or TPS adjustments were made.

Besides, I've got the superduper diag tool anyway so there's no trip to the stealer! ; )

I installed it under my seat, tucked right in front of the battery against the little ledge that perfectly nurtures it against all things evil.

I have an R, so I think I actually have space to do so. I have not seen the underseat section on an S to know where it would fit.

I'd duct tape the damned thing to my fairing if I had to, it's freakin' awesome.

Jwz7:

Believe it or not, I used the stock recommended settings! I didn't even do through their little tuning tutorial.

Like the Ronco rotisserie...just set it and forget it.

I may actually get around to slapping the mule on a dyno and tweaking it some more, but at this rate, I'm happy as a pig as it is! ; )

I wish I owned stock in this company (Techlusion/Dobeck) it truly does kick .
Jeez, I sound like a lovesick teenager, huh? ; )

Does anyone have photos of a unit installed in a XB 9/12 Lightning?
Any problems fitting it in? Kinda tight back there.

I'm sure I've seen pictures on their website, at installation instructions.

I think someone mentioned that the cables are long enough to fit it in the trunk on an XB-R.

After my last dyno I found while in open loop my bike runs extra lean. I inquired about a PC3 and it's $250 to have it tuned. The Techlusion is on the short list.
Dave, you gonna be stocking these from now on, or is this a one time deal?

Over 500 miles and no MIL light. I've had the occasional high load, low speed stumble (read: low-speed, high RPM crawl to impress the natives) but it's really been flawless other than that.

Today (and if anyone lives in L.A. and knows the area next to LAX airport on Lincoln next to the runways) I nailed the throttle and hit the rev limiter in 5th at the very top-end of the 120, bottom of the 130 MPH indicator on my gauges.

It would struggle to pull in the top-end before the Techlusion.

Coolest thing was as I was tucked in hurtling at 120+ Southbound, a 777 was landing (almost literally) right on top of me northbound.

Combined with the V-Twin roar, the noise from the plane's jet engines resonating was awesome! : )

It was smooth and was continuing to pull when it hit the limiter...I think many have said that the geared limit of the bike is around 135 or so?

It'll definitely do that...and more...now! ; )

Wow, I'm still *SO* impressed with the difference. Hope you guys will be too!

Have you had a chance to check your plugs to see if you are fouling them? The stumble you mention is indicative of overly rich condition.

Joele:

The low speed stumble has occurred so infrequently (like twice in over 700 miles) and is not indicative of any sort of endemic issue like plug fouling -- if that were the case, I'd expect it to happen often and at different points in the powerband.

I've pulled the plugs (originals) and they look nice and tan - no fouling.

My stock 9sx with no techlusion will get the occasional stumble as well, more pronounced with the race ECM, but like Chris says, not a big deal.
