I have a red one with 20 miles on it, I just took it on a demo ride with a customer. I rode the R first while he rode a S then we switched bikes.

My XB9R was given to me with 0.2 km on it and the shop made a special effort to show me that I was the first to ride. This kinda made the whole deal even better for me since it was my first new bike. They offered to test ride it for me but after seeing their QA procedures for setup I was fairly confident it wasn't going to fall to bits. I know what Alstoker is going through cause I tried to help a mate through his new VFR800i purchase that came with 200 km. And I know how it made him feel to think he spent 1/2 a years wages on a bike someone else had been riding to and from work. He shouldn't have taken the bike from the dealer but he was all excited about getting a new bike and sorta shrugged it off initially.

Alstroker:

That "I just didn't look" answer I will readily buy AND identify with.

I've brought home more motorcycles in fits of to passion than women...that includes XLCR's and XR-1000's on days I droppped by the HD shop just to have a cup of coffee.

Hey DeerHunter...
I agree with you on their sales dept. Those guys actually dig the bikes and you can tell! As for the service side.. well, don't even think of taking it to Whitts'.. I was told they wouldn't work on mine since it was a 'custom' (factory race kit, factory black shield, factory black heel guards) they didn't build. Man what a crock.. Oh well.. since they don't need my business, I won't even try and give it to them now..

Have you found a better shop in the area? If so, dont' keep it too yourself, I'd be happy to give 'em a try as well..

later,

Mr. Cuell:

It was a mess due to egos and bueracracy...PERIOD.

I was on precisely the same thought train as you. Guy owns over 50 bikes on both coasts, bought 3 Buells in the same day...blah, blah, blah....

I drive by his NYC storage facility pretty often (near where Henrik used to live) and cuss myself sometimes.

Hey guys. Got a Fedex package today. Scott Bumpus sent my check back. They never even tried to deposit it.
The friend that went with me to the dealer had an interesting conversation with a former Bumpus customer today. They said they would never be back there. They ended up buying their bikes somewhere else. No details on what happened but they were obviously dissatisfied.

Alan:

Get the Buell, call Dave & have it shipped. Not many buy a motorcycle 'cause they need one, you buy it 'cause you want one. In 3-4 years, any Japanese bike will be an old, slow Jap repliracer. The Buell will live forever. (Ducati's too, but why buy Italian when you can buy American?)

Come to think of it, get an old tube-framer.

As Court often says, the M2 is the best motersikle ever made!

Blublk, I resorted to having them adjust my TPS, took two days and 30 odd bucks. I was told Battlefield HD is good, but haven;t tried them yet. I do however get all my parts there, they seem to have a good stock, and what they have they discount. He[[, my wife got a $600. Vanson leathers Buell jacket for $229. Oh well, I'll keep lookin, I'll let you know if I find one, Likewise I hope

Thanks

Al, good to hear about getting the check back. I'm sure that makes you feel better, I would.
Now, go find another dealer or call Daves, you won't regret it...
Oh, and first thing, check the odo... : )

Well, it appears that I may have found a bike at Boswells Harley Davidson in Nashville. They have been in business since 1954. My uncle has bought two bikes from them and I also have a friend that bought one so maybe this will be a good experience.

AL, when I was stationed at Fort Campbell I bought my Widleglide at Appletons in Clarksville but went down to Boswells to look around and they were nothing but nice. I never heard a bad thing about them; but that was in the early '90s.

I found some more bikes at the Coolsprings location and they seem eager to deal. They gave me a price of $8995 + tax. I can live with that. I will check them out Saturday too. They also said that they have one in Chrome. Must be some sort of custom. They wanted $10,500 for that one. Looks like this may be the weekend I get it.

That's got to be the same one. That showroom looks like Coolsprings. This dealership has two buildings. One is where all the riding clothes and service are housed and the other is a pavilion with glass all around where the bikes are displayed.

I couldn't have that bike here in Tucson. One, I'd blind everyone on the road from the reflection of the desert sun and two, I'd get dry roasted peanuts on the first day of summer!!!
