On some bikes it's noticeable all the time. On others, not. On some it gets louder over time. On some it gets more quiet.

Yes, it stays on - if it didn't you wouldn't have fuel. The only difference between bikes is whether or not you can hear it once the bike is running.

I seem to recall only one person actually having a problem with their fuel pump (that I'm aware of, obviously). It is not a TPS, ECM, or any other part issue. Most likely, it's not even a fuel pump issue. Just deal with it. -=shrugs=-

Don't know if mine was the one Darthane remembers, but I had a XB9R that the fuel pump and alt. were replaced at 1500 miles. At steady speed at 4000rpm and roll the throttle the bike would occasionally sputter and lose power. The check engine lamp would then illuminate but go back out after a few minutes. No codes were stored. The pump was never audible though as you state yours is.

Fuel pump runs constantly as the injectors work on constant pressure with pulse duration modified.

Why, I think you are trying to hurt my feelings! BTW-The Liberal Democrats would prefer if you called me Mentally Challenged or Exceptional, rather than retarded. That phrase is considered derogatory about people like me!!!

Let's see...420, a white male in his 20's living in North Craphole Dakota gets lit on a Saturday night, starts dwelling on the buzz his bike makes...and posts his paranoia here. Sounds like acceptable behavior given the circumstances to me. Donnie, the pic in your profile beats pancakes and bunnies BTW!!
