Hey there.. Just wondering if someone can shed some light on this topic for me. I'v seen "Drummer" mentioned in a few different topics on here. I have an 03 XB9SL. Just wondering if someone tell me just what a drummer is. Oh and thanks for the snorkel info I was reading on here, yes I have a dealer installed race kit, and no they never removed it when the kit was installed! |

It's an excellent (proven by what I consider trustworthy Dyno runs) exhaust that replaces the stock can so to speak. It actually IS the stock can heavily modified. As I recall it's 6lbs lighter than stock. The best way to get one is to send them your stock can and they'll send it back all drummered up. The torque plateau is retained but raised more than you might think on both the 9 and 12. Contact Brian Gardener (AKA Buckinfubba) at Tilley's HD (A site sponsor). |

The DRUMMER is a performance modification done to your stock can that along with k&n filter, race ecm that yields alot of useable power from your BUELL... Its a muffler....KEVIN |

canadian: i am running the drummer on an otherwise stock XB12. runs great, sounds really nice. a low rumble tone down low, and a real deep bark when opened up. i am very happy the mod. it looks very nearly stock just a litlle shorter overall. it routes the exhaust flow a little further aft, so it wont warm up your ankle while waiting for the light to change. also it is not terribly loud, so the local noise nazis dont get real upset. highly recommended. later, dean |

Bads1, can't do nothing with the Blast can, It is welded every 2 inches inside.. V & H works well on those for the application.... Sounds real good, I've ridden one and the power feels sufficient...KEVIN |

Kevin, I just bought a XB12S and currently own a X1 that I'm selling. How long will it take and how much will it cost to convert my exhaust? I thought I might as well do it while I still have something to ride. Do you see any problem with break-in using your exhaust? You can answer me offline if you prefer. Thanks

Bads1, I can vouch for the Pro Series on the Blast, put one on the wife's Blast! Just one minor downside, it's LOUD when you're on it. It sounds cool, but with the way the tails are oriented the sound bounces off the pavement and right up under your helmet. I liked it. The other fun thing about the Pro Series muffler is that it sounds like a Huey Helicopter at idle. We were cruising through Jacksonville N.C. a while back and at every light, you'd see all the Marines looking up to see where the 'copter was. Became a running joke on our rides for a while. At every stop, everyone would look up and around like they were looking to the sky for something. Dave |

Hey, It's morgan and I am here to say that the Drummer kicks ass. I would have posted earlier but I have been on my bike ever since I put the pipe on. I haven't had it on a Dyno yet (that elective is a ways off at school) but it is a huge improvement. I thought that the bike was fun before, but now it is just a damned giggle fest. Thanks again Brian. Morgan PS, did kevin get my pipe yet? |

Morgan, you'll have to run up here to Prescott at some point so we can enjoy the roads from Wickenburg to Flagstaff. We'll head through Jerome and Sedona. Mostly low"ish" speed twisty stuff. Oh, and so I can hear a Drummer... |

Brian, the folks at the place I mailed the pipe said that it should show up today from FedEx Ground. If not, let me know and I will get the tracking number. I am having a ton of fun, but I did notice a little hole in the torque today. I am not sure but I think it may have developed today. I have the "swiss cheese" modified airbox. Is there anyone else out there running this that has had any problems. I am not sure, but it just feels like it loses something around 4500 rpms then comes on like a hurricane above 5000. I am going to replace my spark plugs tomorrow (Haven't done that yet and I already have 15,000 miles on the bike) and check out my air box since I have to to get to the rear plug. Anyway, just wondering. Also, how hard is it to get that rear plug out? Don, Let's ride. I will let you know the next time I get a weekend off. You will love the sound of the pipe, it is awesome. PS, please no one think that I am unhappy with the pipe, I just noticed this today and am not totally sure what is up, could be my home made airbox mod.

morgan we got the pipe good to go thanks. some that have had the swiss cheese airbox have described this hole before. and yes there is a slight lull right there its only 2 or 3 ft/lbs and then yes it comes on. look back at the dynos you'll see it. I have found if you just power the hell right thru it you'll nevere feel it but yes I have heard of that hole developing with the swiss cheese from a few2 guys here in NC...but not all of them have said this. glad your liking it |

Brian, glad the pipe showed up. See, despite being from Colorado, I am still a respectable guy. It is not a big deal, the bike is still way faster and more resoponsive. How much is that 12 air box just for future reference? Gotta run, Morgan |

Dblhaulxb9s It's not too hard to remove the rear plug. But you need a "U-joint" type socket adapter or a 5/8" "wobble" socket and an extension to deal with that weird angle. Putting it in is not too bad but you will probably need to use a piece of rubber hose if you don't have a spark plug socket with the foam insert. You need that to be able to reach far enough to get the threads going. Don't forget to use anti-seize and to torque the plugs down to specs. |

Just out a of curiosity how much different does the drummer look after the job is done, is there still only a single exit or is it converted to a duel exit |
