Thing of it is. What do you put your new printed dash face on after you have it printed?? Like lets say I had a sticker done of it. What would I stick it to??

If you open BUELL ART 4 it is a blank guage face. You can then open that file in photoshop or some graphics software to apply any design you want. You then just need to be sure that you size and scale it correctly for printing.

Once printed, Bads1, you put your new dash face on your Buell. You need to dissasemble the gauge cluster, and remove the needls, then apply the new face where the old one was. then reassemble.

I don't think you understood me. What do you print it on?? If I made a sticker from a Sign Shop out of Vinyl what would I stick it to. The sticker itself would be to thin to use it would need a backing of sorts. What is the stock piece made of or what could be used???

you could probably find some mylar or thin clear semi rigid vinyl to stick it to, then cut it out, i'll do some research.

i am not sure of the thickness needed, but some of these might work; need to research which would be easiest to cut out.

What I did was use Kodak photo paper. There was a link posted here some time ago with dash faces. I found one I liked, scaled it, printed it, and stuck it in. It's been on there for a good year with absolutely not issues.

This is one I did a while back. Just used photo paper, it's an easy and cheap project. Change it out if/when the photo begins to fade.

If you guys want to use the templates. you can print them onto photo sheet that has a stick backing. then cut to fit directly on the stock gauge. or use a light spray of tack glue on regular photo sheet to apply.

There are several ways to lengthen the life of the print. by using a print shop made sticker where they can die cut all the dots for the light to pass through. or there is a spray once dry that blocks uvb rays keeping it from fading fast.

If you want to pull off the stock gauge then go to a hobby shop that sells rc planes and cars they will have lexan sheet. its cheap and about 3 mm and 2 mm. perfect for the design to be applied to.

there are a few different blank templates. just use a photo shop to make the design you like.

that damn dash lense cover is like a microwave cooker, it cooked off Erik's signature on my dash face. I am going to have to have it disassembled and have him resign it, this time I will put a UV sheet over the autograph. Damn Sun

Use a UV Laminate on the prints for durability boys, nearly any sign shop and a bunch of print shops carry that stuff.

Hand trim with an X-Acto. The gauge face does NOT need any kind of adhesive as it will be held in place just like the original faceplate.

I've had a flame version dash on mine for a 2-3 years now with no trouble. : )

Our needles don't light up do they? I can't remember off hand. If not, how do people use the black faces at night?
