I have a 2003 9s,I've covered 5,000mls in 4mths,living in the UK some of those miles were in wet or rainy conditions. I have noticed both headlight units have gone rather cloudy, the plastic lens has misted-up,worse on the side that is permantly on,it is not water inside because surely that would evaporate ? I took my bike back to my local dealership, where I found out that the resident mechanics 12S which also get used in "all" weathers is doing the same thing, only his clocks leak aswell !!!! Tried doing a warranty claim with BUK (Buell UK) and they said "we will replace the headlight unit under warranty this time, but if it happens again, your on yer own!" i.e. I wil have to purchase any subsequent headlight units should the problem arise again. Anyone else had any simular problems with the lenses clouding up ? |

My 12S hasn't had a headlight problem but I loose my turnsignals on foggy days or in the rain. Last time it happened it took 3 days for the system to dry out enough to work again. |

Take some black hihgh-temp silicone and put it in the seams of the new headlight assembly. If it is moisture-related that should help clear it up. Might want to grease the actual bulb seals as well. |

Only problem I have with my headlights is all the people who tell me I got a light out. Enjoy the ride! |

Already did that, as a rider of classic bikes I was already familiar with that problem. No this unfortunately isn't happening at the light itself but at a connection somewhere. Just don't feel like taking the harness apart at the moment. |
