I talked about it weeks ago. This is my Brothers bike. It's a first year on the inline 4 from Kawasaki. A Z1-900. My oldest brother bought new in late 72. Its actually the first bike I ever got a ride on.... I'd say 36 years ago. My Brother just let it sit..... shame on him. Its going to be put back to original. I have orginal pipes but need the original seat and airbox. Other then that its all there. Hasn't been started in many years.

I had one of the old KZs back in the day.
It was the fastest thing around at the time.
Its going to be put back to original.
Have you ever left anything stock Dana? ; )

Glitch,

I'd have to be completely out of my mind if I didn't go stock. This year is worth cash. Its really not a KZ. I know it looks like one but it wasn't called that...... yet. Z1 would be it. Fastest production bike made in its day.

I hear ya.
I've just never owned a bike I didn't make my own, like you've done with Buells.
Looking forward to the progress pictures.
You going to start on it now, or wait for the Winter?

that looks like a great project. I used to have a kz1000 but it was an 82. It FELT alot faster than it was. It made alot of noise too. On another note. My dad who now has 3 HD's also has a 1971 Honda CB500 4, in a box. I doubt he'll ever rebuild it being that he has 3 bikes to ride, but man, I can remember riding on the tank on the way to nursury school. I would love to restore it.

What funnel??? Restore the grill??? Come on.... they cook better when they have been heavily used. Its Weber thet last forever. I talked to guy that has real nice one on ebay right now. The guy offered me 1500 just for the stock pipes....I declined. Then again the bike may sell to him if the reserve gets met for his.
