Buy a Sport Seat! Best mod I've made, other than the Drummer. Love that it sits you higher in the saddle, gives you a more bad azz look/makes you feel you're out on a mission to kick azz N take names IMO. Also allows your azz to slide more freely, instead of the sticky stock. The fit is not as flush as the stock (aprox 1/4 gap from the seat to the filter cover), but who can notice that when you're on it. A+++

Is it comfortable enough to make a long trip on? I would love the extra leg room but I think it might limit how far I can go before it gets uncomfortable.

Not sure about a long trip since I haven't done it with the seat. But I can say the sport seat is much harder and I have noticed more of my weight is placed onto my wrists. I figure the "Sport Seat" was made with the idea of aggressive riding, thus it's not a touring seat. However Jameic states that he has no issues with the seat during long runs.

LOL, I don't trust ANYONE'S opinion on long distance riding comfort. There are some nutjobs on here (I mean that the nicest way possible) that claim the Firebolt is perfectly comfy for long hauls. Hell, I can't sit on one of those for 5 minutes without being uncomfortable!

Seems to me like the more weight on your wrists, the less comfy it would be on a long trip.

<----one of those nut jobs. Alone, I'm fine on the Firebolt for long hauls. When the misses is with me is when I get a bit uncomfortable.

I bought a slightly used sport seat that was redone by Sargent's. I really like it but that's me.
It does allow more leg room. better seeing in heavy traffic (since your higher) , and allows you to move more thus being more aggressive. The Sargent's foam upgrade really makes the long hauls easy.
I found that if you use your back muscles more it takes the weight off your wrists. But, you have to really think about it or the weight is back on your wrists.
Am thinking about trying the 1" bar risers. Has anyone tried these with the sport seat?

I have been waiting for a sport seat to show up in the classifieds. Recently got the touring saddle, been trying that out.
