I am really kind of confused on what kind of mirrors to get for my xb12s. I was half way thinking the Aprilia Tuono Mirrors, but now I'm not sure.

So I decided to start a thread for all 12s front end model bikes to post pictures with what aftermarket mirrors they have. I think this will help me tremendously in figuring out which mirrors I want for sure.

Thanks in advance!

I have the Aprilia mirrors and while they're nicer looking than stock, I'm not really keen on the rubber booty hardware covers, nor the green mounting hardware. My plan is to paint them and be done with the rubber booties.

My second choice would have been Rizoma's, but jesus h, those things are 200-220.00 a pair and you can't find them used really.

I have the Rizoma "class retro" bar ends.

I know everyone likes those CRG's but I dont like mirrors that stick out too far. These were a nice alternative. Amazing quality. They have a cool blue tint to the mirror also.
I started out with one, but I think I will be adding another one soon(When I can afford it!). I like symmetry.
They soon will be all satin black along with the plastics and some other tidbits. :-)

Sorry no close ups, here is one from PJ's

Running the Tuonos as well. They bold the happy hell right up, and hey ... I can see past my shoulders and elbows.

Aprilia Tuono Mirrors are still winning my heart. I like those ebay specials with the turn signals, but emailed that seller and they wont be available again until mid-late October.

Still lookin for more suggestions though!

third-eye mtn bike barend mirror. $15 - not too different from the CRGs, considering the price difference.

Here is the official cheapskate approach.

You buy a "Third Eye" bicycle mirror for ten bucks,
and jam it into your handlebar end where the crappy little Buell plastic handlebar ends are. They just come out with a pair of pliers.

Of course I don't like to throw that kind of money around, so I bought a couple at a yard sale for a buck, and made a little bracket out of some stainless scrap. Now I got a spare too.

Works like a charm, - much better view astern than the stockers, and less vibration.

If you really got to see whats behind you, just grip the handle bar a little tighter, and the picture clears right up.

Cowtown, Any negative to removing the plastic around the gas filler? Besides getting water on the filter in a downpour.

Did you just cut the lip off where the piece attached?

I bought these on Ebay from someone in China. Yes, my bike was parked in my kitchen. When you live on the ground floor of your apartment complex and don't have a kitchen table it doubles very nicely as an air conditioned garage!

I bought these as a temporary provision while I waited for my Tuono mirrors to come in. They were on back order forever. I actually liked the look of these better once I received the Tuono mirrors and compared them. I switched them out because I only do city riding and the Tuono mirrors have superior visibility. Safety before style in my opinion but others might not rely on them as much as I do...

$30 each side. You can get them directly from an Aprillia dealer but it could cost more.

Ebay $40.00 brand new.
That is for both. I tried the third eye's and they are ok but all plastic, so I suspect they will dry up and become brittle after time.Save your self time and hassle and just spend the $40.00 on a buy now option on ebay.CRG's are WAY overpriced.
I mean we are talking about a 3" mirror right? Peace and grease,Lesley
