Any body else seen this? I'm going to assume some moisture got in there, but how? Bike only has 1600 miles and an HD/Buell dealer did the 1K service. Should this be a warranty thing that they need to find out how it happened and fix it?

Condensation. Air has moisture in it, and temperature changes can cause it to collect of the walls. No biggie. Get it good and hot and it should evaporate back into the air inside the swingarm, if I'm not mistaken.

Unless of course you have a leak, or didn't screw your cap back on good. Condensate is more likely, I think.

If you do not have a heated garage it is likely to happen over the winter as temps rise and fall.

Wipe off the dip stick and check the oil again. If it is milky, change your oil.

Keep a good eye on it to ensure that you don't actually have water getting into the crankcase somewhere.

Check your primary oil too.

You ever get on the highway?

If not, you might want to more often to make sure that oil is getting nice and toasty. and all will be good to go.

Short trips will cause this and are bad for the engine.

Thanks guys. Glad to here it's nothing catastrophic. Yes my garage is not heated and I started the bike probably 5 or 6 times and let it run for about 15 minutes. I'm willing to bet that was a mistake and helped contribute to condensation. Also all rides so far this year have been short ones. The fan has only come on once and that was when I shut it off. Will a good long ride where the fan comes on while riding clear it up or should I also change the oil to help flush some of it out.

Oh yea, thats what it was...letting it sit and idle a few times with out getting her really warmed up. no biggie. I say just change to synthetic, get it out and get her warmed up real good and call it a day.
you will be just fine.

Just check it and make sure it is not milky. If it is milky, change it.

Thanks for the input guys. Sure enough, a good hard ride cured it.
