Hi guys! I know what will be the answer for some of you, why not buy a r then, well here is why. You all saw the thread about registrations in Quebec so I always wanted a 12s but for some reason lately the sport side of the R is calling me especially the new white 08 and if I get a 12s well the registration will be for a 12s which mean max 600 ish$ compare to max 1600 ish$ so if I feel like switching to a R then I'll still save on the registration since the vin will say S. I am just looking if it's too much time consuming and hard cause I can still live with only the S I always wanted lol.

Of parts off badweb and ebay. Easy swap.

I'm not just talking about a tail swap , I'm talking about a full conversion from a S to a R if I feel like riding a R and then back to a S when ever I feel like it

I converted my front end from S to R a few months back. It took me about 8 hours including paint and prep (minus drying time) and $700 in new parts. You could probably find what you need off ebay and the BadWeB cheaper. I was just picky about making sure it looked like something when I finished. I also threw in a set of CRG levers and HID lights. Check my profile for how it turned out.

All in all, I thought it was a fun modification and am very satisfied with how it turned out. Let me know if you'd like more pics or help with your parts list. It's a pretty straight forward mod, so you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!

Yeah I guess only the front end could be fine too but I'll wait and see maybe I'll just stay with the S aniway

I too am toying with the idea of having an R front end on my S. would anyone mind pm'ing/posting a parts list required for the conversion?

p.s. does the front fairing provide wind protection when tucked down, sinilar to jap bikes?

i like the swap idea too, but i might try something a little different using the sebimoto fiberglass kit. modifying it and and making it streetable, but also quickly removable(i.e. tzus fasteners), quick change headlights, and still keep the scoops.

i know some might think a alot of work, but hey its what i enjoy doing.

I actually did the entire swap with a guy 2 years ago. He shipped me all of his parts first, and that was everything, wiring harness, brake lines, body parts, sub frame, everything. I had 2 guys helping me that were not mechanically inclined. We got the swap completely done in 8 hours. I didn't think it was very difficuly, but then again, none of it scares me. I am comfortable with wiring, and mechanics. It was a great day, good luck.

Funny I was thinking of doing the opposite r to an s but I'd like to keep the clip-on bars, for a more aggressive feel.
