I finally got my brand spankin new 12R home tonight through three of sunny Floridas finest thunder stormes. Rode hard and put away wet sums it up the best. After a brew and supper I dug around the supply closet and found some Black Magic detail stuff. Peeled off the warning stickers and went to work. Wow did that ever bring out a shine. I got the little bottle of Harly plastic polish, but don't think I'll be using it.

So what are you using on your stock plastic?

Honda Spray Polish rocks my world. They stopped making it, but I head the company that holds the patent has re-released it without the Honda logo.

If this is the same as the Honda cleaner that used to be in aerosol cans, it was brought back. The weird hippies in California had a problem with it so it was taken off the market until it was "fixed".

Thanks Guys, Is the Plexus only available online?
Pledge we have plenty of, it's the Mrs favorite product. Here's her secret. If you've got granite countertops it's the thing to use, it makes the coffee maker and toaster look like they're floating over the counter. It does soak up water and spots a bit when I'm messy.

I am another Plexus fan.

I use it to clean and polish the plastic on my bike, and I have found it to be very good on the wheels too, as it leaves a shiny finish that makes dirt easier to wipe off the next time I clean the wheels.

Finally, it is the best thing I have ever used to clean my helmet visor, and my spectacles.

I get it a the local Triumph dealer.

My sources tell me the Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish will no longer be sold (by Honda; legal problems.) When it's gone from the dealer's shelves, there will be no more...
I have not heard anything about the maker repackaging the product, but if anyone knows the "New Name" please share.

I've not used Plexus, but by what I read here and other groups, it seems to be the likely heir to the genuine Honda juice.

I have used protect all and if you ask me, it strongly resembles pledge, only for 3 times the price. But it does seem to work.

The last can I bought was from a Honda dealer. Just call around to see if there are any nearby dealers that carry it.

I know for sure that I read it was back in a magazine. Maybe it was under a different name like that stories on the internet suggest. I'll have to try to find that back issue.

Anyway, it seems Honda's cleaner was made by AMREP and they're still producing it from what I gather.

This guy is claiming another alternative is almost the same as the Honda stuff.
http://tiltedhorizons.blogspot.com/2007/03/honda-s pray-cleaner-polish-is-back-sort.html

Personally, I've never used the Honda stuff, but I know people who swore by it.

07xb12scg,
I read the same blurb in Cycle World.
I was excited to hear about the return. But I was told it's not going to happen. At least under the Honda name brand.

Tpoppa,

Sorry to say but it does have some wax in it and the product will build up. I have a cleaning service and take care of office space. I use SC Johnson professional line cleaning supplies and have been for 13 years now and know the products very well. And living in the City where SC Johnson is and the where the product is made.I have to strip the product off of laminate top desk's, credenza's etc. because it does over several applications start to build and eventually cause dull spots. Let me add that I have 3 family members that 2 of the three work on that very line.

You can also use a Meguiar's PLASTX, plastic cleaner and polish. I have cleaned up some nasty body work on the race bikes, and it looks like new. HD also makes Harley Spray Cleaner & Polish, again it's similar to the honda stuff, and use it on our races bikes, works good. Just my 2cents.

Went to two dealerships today to score some Honda Spray Polish and both said Honda isn't making ANY aerosol products anymore... They hooked me up with a can of something they said took over the product line, Premium Spray Cleaner & Polish by Liquid Performance It is the EXACT same thing, scent and all! AWESOME STUFF...

I couldn't find Meguiar's PlastiX but picked up Meguiar's Deep crystal 3 step system to have at my airbox cover in front of the seat. #1 removes swirls and haze, #2 polished it to a silky smooth finish and #3 is a way that polishes it to a brilliant shine. The Plastic is peeling... freakin plastic!

I took the stringy area down with 0000 steel wool and used the three step system on the area and it looks great but, I need to get a good stick on tank protector! Any suggestions?

Yeah I had the Buell Airbox trim. Loved it even though I sold my 'gas tank' and it naturally went with it.
