This looks pretty cool:

The rumored Triumph Street Triple is reality. Here is the first official photo, and Triumph's press release on this naked bike derived from the Daytona 675:

After much media speculation, Triumph is pleased to confirm that rumours of the brand new Street Triple are definitely true! Deriving its genes from the iconic Speed Triple streetfighter and the award-winning Triumph Daytona 675 Supersport, the Street Triple is 675cc of pure naked aggression: lightweight, agile, and fantastic fun to ride.

With an expected MSRP of $7,999 (US)/$9,999 (CD) the Street Triple will be the most affordable of all Triumph sports bikes.

This exciting new motorcycle will initially be available to North American customers through a Priority Reservation Program. Customers who wish to be the first to own one of these new bikes can place an order at any authorized Triumph dealership. Orders will be accepted as of July 1 and the first units will be delivered in October.

The all new Street Triple will make its first North American appearance at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at the Laguna Seca Raceway held July 20-22. The official factory operated website for the Street Triple, www.triumphstreettriple.com, will provide customers with more information on the bike and is scheduled to go live in late June.

Looks like someone finally managed to scrap Johnny-5 and used his parts for a bike!

I like the look of it, though. Pretty sharp! Wonder what it looks like from behind? That website link is totally useless....

HAHA! It does. I always thought like it looks like a grasshopper.

The 675 naked triple is as ugly as every other naked Triumph has been. It's completely disgusting and you can tell that most of the parts were designed to be on a fully faired bike and not visible to the eye. It looks unfinished - like a stunt bike that has had it's fairing ripped off. Or a homemade contraption. Either way, it's FUGLY!

I think the headlights are too big (never liked that about Triumph), but I REALLY dig that front fairing. Bet that'd look great on an XB!

It's a Speed Triple with a 675 engine. I think the current Speed triple is more streetable than that bike. I wish they would have changed the design slightly.

The 675 is an excellent motor. I'll be test riding one when they arrive in the US.

Is it a Speed Triple chassis, or a 675 chassis?

If it is a naked 675 chassis it will be a strong runner. Light and small.

actually, i waited almost a year, and this didnt get announced. Now i have my naked buell and i'm happy.

I almost bought one of their old speed fours, at least that actually looked nice.

This just doesnt look solid. I'd have to get more screens to really make a decision.

I kind of like the looks of the speed triple. It has the single side swing arm and I think it looks better naked.

Looks pretty slick. The Speed Triple was one of the bikes I looked at before Buying my CityX. I think I made the right choice but the Triumphs are pretty cool in there own right.
