I used a 4 1/2" grinder with an aluminum grinding wheel, a sanding pad, some emery cloth, patience, a steady hand, and a few coats of paint. I have a metal fabrication background, but it's not that hard at all.

D3r3k, was there a motorcycle in that pic? I missed it completely.

Is it like those pics at the mall you have to stare at to see?

I tried that too, with no luck what-so-ever.

I love seeing all the different variations of XB's.

It's great what we can do to make our XB S look so different from one another. As individual as all our personalities.

Here's mine. I've been toying with the idea of putting a Firebolt front-end on it What are your thoughts?

I'd keep it the way it is. Maybe get rid of some of the boy-racer decals though. Not bashing, just offering an opinion. Nice bike though, I like the airbox idea, bet that was a PITA!

I think you may have mistaken his stomp grip for air holes. The stomp grip is a
rubbery sheet with little nubs on it to give you more grip with your thighs.

It works well at reducing strain on your upper body on long and/or hard rides.

You'll see it on several race bikes out there.

Really Sweet bike Kedo!! As for adding the R front end...you're bike looks great as she is.

I'm not sure why, but most S to R conversions just don't mesh in the front ~ too much space between the fairing and the rest of the bike. The way I see it is that if you want an R, buy an R; and, if you want an S buy an S. : )

Kedo,

The bike looks great! I think the decals look classy and help set it apart visually from most the Buells I've seen.

Ah ha, yes, I have seen the grips on race bikes! Very cool, I like! I like the Pirelli decal, but I'd lose the ones on the sub frame. Lookin' good tho.

Dmhines - looks like yours is an '07. I like the clean look without the belt guards - however, they do serve an important purpose. I recommend the fiberglass belt guards from Frank Parts in Germany. They are much cleaner than the OEM and really well made. Check out the swing-arm on my 12S. I posted pics here, on the XBBoard a little while ago.

Cgoficer, which decals on the subframe? The K&N and the reflective tape? Just leave the Pirelli? I like the suggestion. Thanks for the input.

Hey Kedo, I see that you are running a Drummer. Are you using the stock ECM and open airbox kit? I also have an 07 and wanted to get the drummer but Al doesn't have a map yet for the 07 bikes. How does yours run?

The only thing 2007 on mine is the inner airbox cover. I removed the American Motorcyles emblem from each side of the outer cover and left just the BUELL .. I think that's how the 2007's are. Other than that it's all 2006 ..

Skarecrow - Yes, Drummer, K&N, Open Air Box (from American Sport Bike). The bike runs great - though I'm certain from what Al at American Sport Bike says, it would be even better with a re-mapped ECM. I am waiting for the beta from him and I'll be in it for sure. There is the money thing also...

Ronlv,

Your bike is sick! Very european-streetfighter-ish! Did you have your rear wheel widened? Does the stock swing arm work with that tire/wheel mod?
