Well this is the SECOND STRAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 34K of SERIOUS ABUSE, a couple flips in the air, a few low speed drops, burnouts until tires popped, unknown number of wheelies and stoppies, 250 miles at barber, 150 miles at Jennings, about 20k+ in the mountains and Deals Gap, an ungodly amount of money in maint. and speeding/reckless driving fines, a trip to impound(me and the bike), heated gear for the winter, bouncing of the rev limiter just for fun and just plain ol hoolinism.............

The bike quit charging

While I was riding in the dark(cuz the R headlights suck, well yall know that)draggin' my titanium knee sliders so I could see around the corner. I was obviously going waaayyyy to fast through those turns(and blind no less cuz the R headlights suck) with my heated gear a BLAZIN I noticed the jacket getting cold. I pull a quick 3/4 mile third gear wheelie to get the wind off me and still cold. Next thing I know the check engine light is on and the lights are dim. I hustle home and let off the gas only when I enter the barn and she DIED!!!

So I need you to send me money so I can charge the battery and then go blow the motor on vid. and post it here so I can pay off the loan
(Crap, the bike is paid for)I mean get a new bike!!!!

I like the RC51, It will make up for my small....

By the way I will not blow up the bike on vid, only repair it so I can continue the abuse. Now she will really get whooped, I will teach her to fail on me!!!!

I can't believe it! What an unreliable POS! You mean you have to do maintenance and occasionally replace parts on these things? That's IT! I'm driving mine off the nearest bridge. A nut came loose on mine a while back and caused me momentary inconvenience. I must have a POS too.

well mine was kind of neat to. thats when i totaled it. pounded second just shy of redline it held for a minute and then wham! stripped a few teeth off the belt. when it caught it caught hard!!! i was in the air with the bike over my head. i kicked off of it right into the payvment. it slid on its top, hooked and launched again right down on its nose. sliding down the payvment curled up on my coat trying to twist around as im sliding so i can watch the carnage.

picked it up. no clutch lever, left footpeg, front fairing assembly hanging by the wires, busted and bent back rim, and a flat tire. can you believe the piece of crap started back up in gear for some reason and drove itself the last little bit back to the shop. how dare it...

You are making me want to give my bike a third chance when I finally get it put back together. I just want something to beat on with confidence. Like someone here used to say: ride it like you stole it".

Best, photo, ever.

You know guys, I always see the negative threads relating to problems that people are having with their Buells. But its threads like these that bring out the success and satisfaction stories that restore my faith and ease my worries regarding my spring time purchase. Thank you.

Yeah, my timing cover vibrated off. POS! Why won't Erik buy me a new bike? I'm gonna get my hot air balloon and strafe your little buell island. Did I mention I have a hot air balloon? I happen to think a missing timing cover is a serious design flaw, even though I drilled out the rivets. I couldn't find screws to replace the rivets so I used some old chewing gum to hold it in place. Why would buell design a bike that has rivets on it? Did I mention I have a hot air balloon? Customer service was no help even after I yelled at them. Did I mention that I called customer service on my cell phone from my hot air balloon? Buells are POS. Timing covers and chewing gum should be covered by warranty. I'm gonna drop my bike from my hot air balloon.

I got a bad tail light story. Mine went out because I drove through about 5 hours of pounding rain, heavy hail, massive amounts of wind and my tail light went out. That's all. I go buy a tail light from HD service counter (Yay) and as I'm walking back to the shop where my bike is getting serviced I drop my tail light and break it. Dammit. So - I go buy another one. Expensive tail light.

And dang there impossible to work on also. I mean jeeez 470 miles from home, and the 3%'s put a new rear motor mount on mine, with minimal tools I might add, IE- a log, after I decided to clean the trash out of a ditch. 16460 miles later, she still likes to try to throw me off the back! POS

Good point kdan. Gotta make sure you keep up with that chain. And I hate my Buell. I beat the crap out of it and it hasn't broken! But I know it will at some point and prove what a POS it really is, someday.

Well $73 dollars and 30 min. later the bike is charging again. Following the diagnostic procedure in the manual showed that my stator was charging properly with the right resistance and no shorts to ground. My voltage regulator had a dry rotted back and many crack in the case from the "landing". Installed in a jiffy and back on the road!

dammit . . . this P.O.S. buell must really hate other m/c s because all it wants to do is attack them! you- - no it sees a bike down the road and wants to attack it ! it wants to nip at the heels of the m/c ahead and then fly by !(barking obcenities from it's drummer ex.) the damn buell then has the "nerve" to ask for new tires at a very alarming rate! what a P.O.S. !!!

New12, yes it is great, had a wire on the headlights wear through and kill the ignition for a week or so. I guess that was from beating in the corners and on some of the dirt roads, scratch that, goat trails we have been jetting through. Glad your running again. Just imagine, in a few months a big ole group of POS owners will trash on their bikes some more down your way!!!!

Motormanmike, First and foremost I never asked ANY dealer or BMC for anything free. EVER!!! And if it had been just a cover? oh well. Four belts and a whole lot of other shit went wrong. Sorry but a POS is a POS. and unless you have read the good things I have said about the bike you are in no spot to say shit to me. Matter of fact if you want to jump on a very small groups bandwagon thats fine just don't forget to swallow. They like that best.

You want to show some disrespect find your nads and come up to my neck of the woods sometime and do it in person. Till then you are just another mouth.

Some of you guys remind me of a bunch of grade school bullies only hiding behind mommas skirt.

I may have bitched about my Buell endlessly but I never got personal with anyone over it. In fact I have shown remarkable tolerance with some of the B.S.

I am done with the Buell and Tolerance.

I don't care much for little smart mouthed asses with big keyboard muscles....... They never learn respect until someone beats them down. The simple logic of respect is just beyond some. Say what you said to me online to my face.................................

Oh well I am done with the Buell and really only came back here to say a few things to Steve B, thank him for the new playtoy and wish him luck at the track.

So........ Good luck Steve I hope you have a lot of fun with it!

I won't get sucked into the thread again but if motormouth wants to PM me I would love to have this little chat in person. Keep posting pics also as I will likely go to the races this season and would love to see a couple of faces from this board there.

Most of you gents are good people and I have for the mostpart enjoyed badweb and all of it's dysfunction.
