Hey Guys,
I'm sure most of you have seen pics of my orange Ss that I put the S subframe and seat on. There is a bunch of work into it. I kept all my original parts, and nothing was done that can't be swapped out...except the painting.

My ? is, do you think there is any chance of selling it modded out like this, or should I go back to stock and sell my takeoffs? Usually mods bring nothing in value, but I've never sold a Buell before. Some vehicles actually bring more with the "right" mods.

XB12r Nate, throw a city x seat on, and a 90" engine and you're done!

Seriously though guys, just looking for some honest input. Thanks.

Tommy_k...
First we need to know why you are selling such a dope looking bike!

Anyway, the mods may not add any value, but they will certainly help you move it.

i would think with the tasteful mods, it should sell ok, especially with the orig take off parts that it wouldn't be much of an issue. though i personally like it better with the orig SS rear end, i would still consider the purchase as long as the orig parts were included.

I think you should keep working on it. It really looks great, and it is hard to think of a nicer bike that wouldn't cost twice as much - and then you would probably want to modify that one!

That being said, there is no doubt that you will make more money returning it to stock, and selling off the bits.

Of course it's a lot more work, and one hates to see one's creation dismantled.

It is a fact of life that everyone can accept a stock bike, whilst even a tastefully modified bike may appeal to one person and not to another, thus limiting its marketability.

When I sold Ol' Yaller, I took a middle course: I kept a lot of things on it that gave it it's character, but I kept a few expensive bits back that I transfered to my current mount, Lil' Blackie.

I think your bike would sell as modified. What are you looking to get for it?

If it's easy enough to switch back to stock, I would go that route - it'll give you the broadest audience to sell to (clean sheet).

You can always sell the add-ons separately

Having said that, I really like what you've done to it

Cheers

Jeeze, I don't even know guys. I know this isn't really the forum for it. If anyone is interested in the meantime, shoot me a pm. If I go public I'll be sure to offer it in the classifieds first! Thanks for all your opinions, I do appreciate it.

I've met Tommy briefly "Really nice Guy BTW" and seen his bike in person.. Its a really bad ass one of a kind bike...

As long as all the original parts were included in the sale I think you should be good..

If you do Sell you could list multiple prices to compensate for your after market goodies. That way you could get a bigger range of potential buyers.

You itching for a liter bike? Your not alone..

Thanks Ted!
Actually, if I were itching, it'd be for a 1.4 liter bike.

Maybe Eric Z could convince me to keep it if he'd get his turbo kits going!!

Might be hitting Deals Gap/Dragon in Oct, and I don't think it'd be the same on the Night Rod...Ss just might have a stay of execution!
