Yes, I did, John said the "Race" pipe was gonna run and hide from the new Force pipe. He says they wont stop till they get a 10 - 15 rwh improvement from it. But, plug your ears, Itll be loud.

As long as it doesn't start shaking shit off the bike like the old tuber Force pipes.

And if they can really do that then I'll gladly hang up the race kit or sell it off cheap. Just give me more in the midrange and I'll be happy.

Just found another muffler for the XB. Latus Motors Racing in Portland,Oregon has developed a performance muffler with these features:
Gain up to 7Hp at 3000 rpm,5HP at peak rpm.
Needs NO mods to F.I.
Lightweight-saves 4.8lbs
Stainless steel construction, easy to install using stock brackets and includes mounts for chin fairing. Features a low profile design with Dual Chrome tips! Call 1-800-446-2525. wish I could show you the dyno graph and muffler pic. Ask them to e-mail you a pic. Cost about 399. No I don't sell them! I juist know the race set up gives a poor mid range at 4500 and this muffler gains down low and on top and leaves the mid range alone! If I can swing a new XBS this it the first additon.

Okay, the Firebolt has been available for 6 months now. Where are the kits? So far, the only real option (non custom) I see is the factory race muffler which still looks too heavy. 2Bros, V&H, White Bros and everyone else, what is the holdup? I'm sure with a little R&D, even Meineke or Midas could have one by now.

I know! Where are all of the performance kits? When is the power commander coming out and how about the exhaust systems. I want one now but dont want to settle on the buell race kit if there is something better in the works.

"Sounds great, and most importantly, has dual chrome tips"

Now your muffler can match your heel guards!

I really like this muffler! From what I hear from Latus, this thing will make some decent power. I will probably be buying one of these real soon.

Wonder how it sounds? By the looks of it, it should be louder than the Buell race muffler. Interesting they are a HD/Buell Dealer, making their own aftermarket muffler. Reasonably priced at $350, and it's got to look a lot better on the bike than the fetal pig! Appears to be well constructed IMHO. Anyone out in the Spokane or Portland area seen/heard one of these?

Dave got my replacement muffler to me - thanks Dave!

This one wasn't damaged - yay! I hope to be in N GA next week and right before I leave there I'll go ahead and install it - I want a couple of days to ride it as is before I take the chance of screwing it up. The install sounds straightforward, but don't forget I managed to blow a simple turn-signal install ;-(

Will report back on how the install goes.

Hmmm. I called them and the parts guy played like he had no idea about this muffler. I did notice that it went up $50 today. Hmmmmmmmm :(

Think they got word of the post on here about the muffler and figured since they were going to sell them anyway, they might as well make an extra $50? Have to remember, they are first and formost a Harley dealer! Just my take on it

I have heard the muffler on the Firebolt back in late June right after Latus had it installed on the bike. The sound was good.

I would be cautious about buying anything from Latus though!

Can you expand on that? Poor quality, or bad claims?

Xb9,

The quality looked good from what I could tell.
Now the performance claims, that is what I question. I was told by the GM at Latus that the muffler was just simply a modified car muffler?

My friends who are car freaks said the same thing...that it looks like a "FlowMaster" with mounting brackets welded on. Not sure of that's true.

It does look like a flowmaster. My question is why would you paint,coat,whatever.....a stainless steel muffler black. Seems strange to me.

Xb9,

Yes it does make one wonder. I might just pop into the shop tomorrow to see if I can get a dyno chart and check on my fender and saddle bag locks that I have been waiting 8 weeks for. If I can get one, I'll scan and post it here for ya.

Was wondering how is the Pro Race XB kit working out for everyone?

I was also wondering if I can just put in the air cleaner and the ecm and leave the stock exhaust on?
Would it do anything for the bike?

I think the main reason there is a long wait for XB aftermarket systems is durability...I'm sure all the manufactures learned a tough lesson with the tubers.

...and the Buell race exhaust sounds fairly pathetic. Good if want more power and don't wanna piss off the neighbors, I guess.

Rd yes it will but not much. I did however manage to squeez out 88 RWHP with the stock exhaust on my M2 but that was with head work.

Has anyone heard or seen the Latus Racing muffler on an XB? It does look like a Flowmaster but as long as it is strong enough to hold the chin spoiler, I'd be willing to try one, even at $400.
I have heard from one user on the americanthunderbike.com site and he likes it and appears to have had it for a few months already. So... Any takers? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?

Here is a place that is listing a two brothers exhaust for the XB9R. I didn't think it was out yet.

pipecity.com also shows the 2bros on their site but it doesn't exist yet :(
I'd like to see more on the Latus Racing unit. I wonder if the outer surface of the auto muffler is strong enough to hold those welded brackets over time.
