Ok Djrider I deleted it only cause I wanted to. But every post you have made has been completely bashing.People have tried to help you but you keep crapping on the brand because of your ordeal with your bike.

I would hash it out with the dealer and Buell CS - and even though it would be a long process - I'd keep plugging and not moaning till I have results to deal with - right now you have nothing but dis-satisfaction - which will get you no where - you need to really dedicate yourself to this to win any portion of this fight. Then you would have room to moan - first fight using all your available resources, then lick/bandage your wounds.

I deleted mine also but it was funny. Like Ezblast I think you should fight first and then if you loose then start moaning. Call the BBB and get them involved. I would think that every state has some sort of lemon law.

Does your bike have a salvage title from the wreck? I would say if it does you won't get anyone to say it's a lemon. I kind of doubt they will just because it has been laid down and repaired by a person doing it at home. If the bike was in top shape, never laid down and given the proper maint and it still ran like crap you might have a leg to stand on. I'm not saying don't try because I would if I was in your situation, but it seems like you know you are going to run into a wall from the beginning of your post:

yes i layed it down in some rocks, and yes i did most of the repairs myself, and yes its been in the shop for 2 months now

Best of luck to you, and I hope they will take care of you. It sucks to buy something and feel like it isn't worth what you spent no matter what the situation.

Your definately not the first person i`ve heard of with Buell that was lemon. I personally know two people that have had their XB in the shop longer than on the road.

Mine has been ok, i`ve only had problems with wheel bearing broken twice, dead battery, fouled plugs 4 times, fuses blowing, clutch cable snapped once, stalling, and broken 3 belts in 5000 miles.

I still love my Buell but they do have some issues. In your case try contacting Buell Customer Service, Good luck! You gonna need it!

I have decided that you just need to crate the bike up and send it to me. I will pay shipping. Your problems will be over and I will have to deal with them. After all what are friends for.

DJ - You keep popping up on this board with your frustration, but each time you start a new thread on this same subject we get very little regarding the steps you are taking.

It has been asked several times on a number of different times you have posted, if you have taken this directly to Buell, and what response you have gotten.

So what is the story?

truk he very clearly stated that he got off work too late to contact Buell Customer Service. so,given the pervasive employment scheduling conflict, as you can see, he is basicly screwed here. I mean if one's work schedule exactly coincides with Buell customer service hours, what ever could one do, other then buy a brand of motorcycle which has more reasonable and/or extensive Customer service hours. obviously his employment makes it impossible for him to effectively own or enjoy his Buell,

My unanswerable question to date.

"Wow sorry to hear about this whole situation. Definetly would be my worst nigthmare if it happened to me. Did you ever write or contact customer service at Buell HQ? I am interested in how that went if you did. "
Thanks and good luck

Frankly I feel your pain. Folks, you gotta cut him a bit of a break. I admit that my first post on this board was the same.

You study, talk yourself into buying/investing in a lot of money on a motorcycle only to have to pay for it while its sitting in a shop. I understand that, and its f*cking frustrating.

I consider my '05 cityX a lemon, I bought it, rode it 200 miles and then it went to the shop for 2 f'ing months with electrical problems. They never figured it out, then put a whole new wiring harness in it. So far no major problems except my mirrors keep coming loose.

I agree with everyone's comments, you have to buck up and be proactive, positive and use all your sources - customer service etc.. But at the same time, I understand your pain and I'm sorry folks jump on you for it.

As a new Buell owner, you guys are scaring me. Seems like people have lots of issues with these bikes.

Is that the case, or is it just the fact that no one posts about how well their bike is running and how its never been to the shop.

Chad

While I wouldn't presume to speak for those that are having trouble, I think you identified one fo the reasons the data looks the way it does -- with the random exception of someone just posting "I love my buell" out of sheer joy, most folks will post ehn they are having difficulties -- one person having an issue can loom very large on-line -- two people (and who's to say they are having the same problem, one might be trying to get a spare key or something) can generate a lot of attention and volume

the fact the the XB series Buells are very reliable is well documented -- this fact, of course, does not have any bearing at all if you're suffering through problems --

my advice would be ride the snot outa your bike, keep an open ear for any trouble YOU may have (while learning from the troubles of others), and have fun

I think there is a large probability that upon investigation Blake will discover strange IPs and the possibility that some of these guys are one and the same person. If you are going to use a board name like Fcbuell, I think it's likely that it's NOT someone that just bought one and has some issues. It's more likely to be a dedicated troll.

Xlcr,I had a few problems with my bike and it was in the shop more than once for a month each time, does that make me a troll because posted about my frustrations with the problems with my bike?I will say,my bike has been perfect the last 6 months so I have been on both sides of the fence.I have also had a good experience and a bad experience with Buell customer service, the bad was one particular lady who was not to helpful with me or my wife.

I had real reservations about buying a Buell due to the negitive information I read about them. I did some research and found that most people seem to have good luck with them. Mostly minor issue if anything. Then after I got my bike home I start seeing threads about major bolts being loose, stalling, electrical gremlins, etc.

My mantra is generally to just ride the bike and not worry. I sold my trouble free FJR to buy my 12X and dispite the fact that FJRs had a reputation for worn valve guides and excessive heat, I just rode the thing. Never took it to a shop for anything. Did my own maintenance in excess of what the factory reccomended and rode it like I stole it.

After 22,000 miles in two years, the bike was still solid as a rock. I'm hoping the Buell will stand up to the same rigors.

DJ, who called you a troll?

You've got $12K in your '04 XB12R? PT Barnum was right.

I feel your pain in regard to having your bike in the shop, but you gotta lighten up Francis.

Perhaps maybe you should pay your local Honda dealer a visit.

wow, you guys are crazy...i am a steel worker by day and a disk jockey by night. i can find time to call buell, but the past few weeks ive been working on a coke battery where the phone service does not work (ie: out of range or something). i worked midnight to 4pm the past 3 days and gettin home i just wanna sleep. honestly i dont mean to disrespect the buell name, but hell, the bike is a piece of , even before i dumped it on rocks going 25 miles an hour it ran like crap. the dealership wont give me a straight answer, and honestly i just wanna cut my losses and get a new bike, not a buell. its my money, not yours, so all the negative stuff some of you are throwing at me, thats great, i hope it boosts your ego or whatever your tryin to acomplish...i come to this board because its the only buell board i know of, and besides the fact that my bike is a P.O.S. i really think this is the best site for any/all info about buells hands down. the next day i actually have off that i can call during business hours is next thursday, so im hoping i can get ahold of buell customer service...but in all honesty, they do not have control over independant dealerships, and i dont think they can do very much for me.

now about my skid out...i fixed the plastics that were scratched myself, any one with 1 wit of knowledge about nuts and bolts would be able to do that, then i sent it to a dealership to have them look it over and do the 5000 mile service. got it back, and it still kinda ran like crap, but i thought it was just the way the buells were supposed to run. i am allowed to bitch about my bike on this forum, and sometimes the truth hurts...the buell xb 12r 2004 that i am paying on has been in the shop more than it has been on the road. i am upset and want a solution to this problem. i only post here to see if anyone has had any similar problems and or ideas to help me guide the way. its not every day you have a 12,000 dollar piece of machinery that doesnt run right, and sits in the shop while u pay hundreds of dollars a month in insurance and payments. i want a different bike: (

OK I changed my mind. At this point you're just outwardly beeching AT us. Your bike problems are NOT our fault.

And we did as you asked, gave you advice and chimed in where we had similar problems. I hope it helped.

Stop the whining AT us. Take your last sentence and go get a different bike. Then we won't have to hear this stuff.

I think most people on this site don`t want to talk about the possibilty of Buells being lemons or having alot of problems. They only want to say that Buells are the greatest bikes ever made and that they never break.

Again, i love my XB12, but its definately been far from trouble free. Probably the most unreliable bike i`ve ever owned. Just do a search on this site and you`ll find lots of people with all kinds of problems with their Buells. Having dealers that don`t want to or are not good at repairing Buells doesn`t help either.

But i still like it, it looks cool, and its fun to ride. So give this guy a break and lets not be afraid to talk about some of the problems with our bike please!

Give this guy a break!
