My wonderful wife came home last night with a $7,000 sewing machine. She's an MD and can afford it. So today I'm going down to the Apple store and picking up one of those $3,249 rMBP with i7 processor and 16 GB RAM. Unless someone here has a better idea. |

I hate you. That might be jealousy, I'll have to look into it. |

Because of the sewing machine? Just kidding. It's all about financing. I've been selling off my 1125 race parts and will probably sell the bike too, getting ready for the 1190. Don't be jealous. Start getting ready for the 1190RX coming out. |

My current plan is to hang onto the 1125 until it's either dead, or is demanding parts I can't obtain for it or work around. At that point, I figure the second wave of new Buells will be out, and I can snag an 1190 based bike used. Not quite rich enough yet to buy a new one... |

What do sewing machines have to do with the 1125 forum? I must have missed something here.....

Stirz, you really can't understand how it could be related to buying a bike? My wife is pretty understanding about my purchases, but she is way more tolerant after she buys something that is extravagant. I'd like to hear what others have to say on the subject of how their spouse handles these situations too. I suppose I should have just come right out and asked. duphuckincati, no. She's getting ready to retire and plans to use it then. |

Sorry - I guess I misunderstood where this was going. The original post didn't mention anything about bikes (or the 1125) - my bad |

Whatever you do don't waste money on a freaking apple computer. I don't care what anyone says, apple is a complete WASTE of money both in regards to cost of hardware for what you get as well as software. Do some research instead of just bending over and letting apple have their way with you, regardless of whether they bought you a drink first. |

Opinions... Apple bought my house for me. I like the company and their kit. I will say I distrust/dislike Google more than M$. Nice situation Doug. If you don't have a Uly, get one. I got an 09 and LOVE it. Zack |

I'm a mac and pc guy - both pay the bills for me. I would not get the new MBP - the thin design is at the expense of easily upgrading parts. You cannot upgrade RAM or HDD since they are soldered in now (like the macbook air - a great ultralite that's basically disposable). My MBP (old) over several years had a couple upgrades to RAM and HDD and is still going strong (if a bit slow now). To lose that ability on a PREMIUM laptop (unlike macbook air) seems crazy and instead I bought a new Dell (i7, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD) instead. Enjoy the sewing machine and new toys! |

Jenn is pretty good about all my purchases. my money is my money, and hers is hers. do what we want with it as long as our share of the bills and such are already taken care of. hence the garage full of bikes and the nice duramax... |

I've had several expensive Husqvarnas. If she wants to buy an expensive Husqvarna, it's okay by me. Heck, it doesn't have to be a Husqvarna. |

When you said a $7000 sewing machine, I thought you meant she bought an 1125R with a stock exhaust. |
