I love showing off the excellent engineering in both my Buells and my Fords.

I really enjoy, and never cease to be amazed, at things that Porsche (they really moved the bar with the PDK) and Mercedes-Benz (the leader in automobile innovation) have done. But it's great to see what the folks at Ford are doing. The new "one Ford" (selling pretty much the same model around the world) is a gifted piece of strategy.

The new EBR products (they won't be "Buells" . . . at least until HD surrenders those rights) are are going to be incredible.

The bikes have been ready for a while . . . but releasing a bile without the dealer network and support structure is suicide. Ergo . . . race in the meantime, hone your engineering, build your staff and build a company foundation.

Erik and The Elves have a keen sense of the pulse of motorcyclists around the world . . . . I can't wait and think folks will be thrilled.

I for one am looking forward to the non-standard stuff that EBR comes up with. Superbikes are sexy for sure, but there are so many other places (and displacements) for fun an innovation.

I'm a dodge guy at heart. My dad has a ram 3500 with a cummins diesel. That truck is a beast. It was my DD for 30k miles, an awesome truck, it has over 100k miles on it with zero issues.

I'm a Cummins fan too, I've had 2 of them, but I do have to say my 2008 ate 3 turbo's in 28k miles. Reliable it was not. Apparently that was common since it was the first year of the variable turbo. I sold it before it went off warranty, I simply couldn't risk a $8k repair every 8,000 miles}

I love showing off the excellent engineering in both my Buells

Back on topic, I too love the engineering of the Buell. I'm an engineer, and the more I work on the bike the more I see the genius in the design. This bike is SO MUCH easier to work on than my Triumph Sprint ST or the Honda 600F2 I had

very, very true statement and smart business

imagine all the posts on here by new owners that can't get service and support. It would create such a lasting bad impression it could kill the chances of the companies success. HD service complaints still ring bitter here almost daily

The dealer network is over 70 now. Do you really think that is holding things up? Or could it be that the FIM wants the 1000 homologation bikes built in the same calendar year?

I have an '07 Dodge which has the 6.7 Cummins with variable vane turbo. '07 was the year you could still get the 5.9 or the new 6.7. I have ~106,000 on it now. Almost half of those miles are pulling my trailer. I had an '06 SRW I traded in on this one because I wanted the dually, which had a better exhaust brake. The 5.9's had a computer controlled butterfly in the exhaust. I could slide the rear wheels in the rain (with no load). The 6.7 gets its braking effect from closing down the vanes on the turbo. I'm sure it's controlled to not let you have so much braking. I enjoy comparing car notes but aren't we just a bit off topic?

Where did this statement come from Court I didn't know this was even on the table. I thought Erik was happy to be using EBR.

IIRC, an HD lawyer, who happens to be a Badwebber, posted at least a couple of years ago that they had been directed by HD to not pursue copyright (trademark?) infringements against the Buell name.

My poor non-lawyer's understanding of this was that if HD did not enforce their rights on the Buell name, they would eventually lose them, which means Erik could re-acquire them.

Yes, the engine braking in the 6.7 was a nice feature.

Just a shame they hit the ground with so many problems. 3 turbos in 28k miles was reedonkulus}

my dads was an 06, last year of the 5.9. The best engine IMO, he has his truck at 410hp and 750 ft lbs of torque, and it does not have any of the emissions crap on it. The funny part is he got a killer deal on it. He paid $32k OTD for it brand new in 06. People have offered him high $20k's for it because its a low mile 06.
When you open the hood you can still see the ground, unlike the 6.7 haha

That sucks that you had issues, i heard there were a lot of issues with the 6.7 the first few years. But they have it sorted out now.

Court doesn't normally hijack threads.
This makes me think he is giving hints.

Good points. Now, do you think it will be a diesel? Definitely needs to be a 1 ton dually.

That's excellent news. Maybe because I love trains. Maybe because of something else.
