Very happy with my latest purchase, an OZ RACING lightweight alloy wheel.

All I need now is some Ohlins front forks and a upgraded rear shock

It's custom paint, no stickers at all, once I get the finishing touches done I'll be getting some proper pictures taken

That is a sweet looking wheel.

Can you weigh both wheels?

I will weight the stock R1 wheel first Inc tyre and discs, then swap it all over onto the OZ wheel for a comparison

Nice bikes.

Does the 1125R steer faster without the single hula-hoop disk with ZTL caliper? Or is the 1125R's slow steering not due to the Buell unique disk brake system?

Thanks.

The slow steering is due to incorrect suspension set up. It could also be badly worn front tires.

Squish ~ What Rogue_biker said was a Bullseye!

If you want your steering to quicken do any or all:

decrease front preload.
increase rear preload.
increase air pressures.
put your head and shoulders down, sit at the front of the seat.
elbows bent.
balls of feet on pegs.
weight on inside peg.
raise and or press knee into frame.

I'll make another post if I think of any more. :-)

I rode a KTM RC8R - this bike steers so quick. You can flick from left to right so fast - the cycle tests of the RC8R also mentioned this....possibly I am just biased.

My 1125R setup & front tire are fine.

Squish ~ All your last post tells me is that the KTM was set up softer in front than your 1125.

On the top of the forks there is a colored nut. Imagine a clock face, set your wrench handle to any hour and back off one hour. test and repeat as necessary.

Bastel I am very jealous of your front end on the 1125, I wish I had saved harder for a better set up in the first place, however I'm still very happy with it : )

@Avalaugh
The front end is from a Aprilia RSV Mille with 320mm disk. I like it.
The next step is Sicom disk, it is ligter 780g per disk. The Brembo disk wigth 1380g.
Great

You say it's setup fine, but then are also complaining about slow steering???

Seems like one or the other is correct, and not both.

I've always liked the look of the ZTL2 but the dual disc setup looks badass IMO

The look of the ZTL cannot be beat, however, it's braking performance can, when I did my conversion I was doing trackdays, it's now only a streetbike so in hindsight I may have liked to keep the ZTL. but the dual disc brainy feel and performance is far superior IMO.

Dressed R1 wheel 11.7KG

Dressed OZ wheel 11.1KG

R1 wheel with just bearings and spacer 4.6KG

OZ wheel with just bearings and spacer 4.1kg

So half a kilo of unsprung weight isn't bad, what does the standard 1125 wheel weigh. all dressed with disc, bearings, tyre and spacer ?

The tyre I'm using is a Michelin pilot 2CT

Ava - You know how I've felt about your bike in the past......but damn brother, that paint looks awesome!
How does the new wheel setup compare in weight to the stock unit (with brakes etc)?

The pictures really don't do the paint justice, it's flawless and exceptionally deep and shiney. I'm very happy with the outcome.

As for any noticeable difference from the small weight saving, I'm afraid I can't really notice any, however, it sure looks awesome : )
