Performance Mods!: | Real mods planned... |
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | Noisy front forks - darn split bushing design for fork sliders. (Thought it was the headstock bearings, but the noise is apparently from the forks.) Technically, there is nothing wrong with the forks; the noise is unfortunately a by-product of their design. |
Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: | Windscreen. LED taillight. |
Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): | Skyline Blvd. on the SF peninsula, CA. Mosquito Road east of Sacramento, CA. When I'm down south, then Cherry Cola Skyway, NC (AKA Cherohala Skyway: Robbinsville to Telico Plains) |
Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | Desired a V-twin sportbike that met the following criteria: 1) is a relatively light bike, 2) could live with for around town rides, and 3) the bike had to have performance good enough to be a decent machine for weekend track day events. (4. At around the time I bought the 2009 1125R, $20K + for a KTM RC8 out of the box with glitchy fuel injection / power delivery was unacceptable.) |
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | Buell: keep developing, evolving and producing a light sport bike. Erik: why electro-mechanical with heavy batteries? The future is carbon neutral. |
Life History/Philosophy: | |
Top speed on 2 wheels (mph): | Only that approved by Ralph Nader. |
Preferred engine oil (brand/grade): | Redline 20W-50 Motorcycle Full Synthetic |
