Well it's that time again and almost before I can finish the vids of one race it's time for another. This time it's the big track at Willow Springs. I'm waiting for offset steering head inserts, sprockets and quickshifter from EBR, to prepare the bike for the speeds needed to win. The BIG news is that, after our success at the Streets, Dunlop has stepped up BIG TIME with tires!! Tony is coming out with an assortment, both foreign and domestic, for Shawn to test on Friday and Saturday, so that we have the best rubber for the races Sunday. They really don't like being beaten by Pirelli. So it looks to be an interesting 3 days and I urge those who can make it to come. Of course we will be shooting as usual for those who can't. Again I want to express my thanks for the huge help contributed by members last race, when we were paying full retail for tires. Thank you!!!! I should have the last race vid up in the next day or so. |

Sparky, the event will be the Toyota Formula One race. There is actually real money in this race. This is going to be an awesome thing to see since the big track has historically been litre-bike dominated. (Message edited by slaughter on November 11, 2011) |

Best of luck Rob and Shawn! Looking forward to seeing the videos and you guys on the podium. WTG Dunlop! Great to see that type of support pop up so quickly. |

Good luck Rob and Shawn! Slaughter, from your being at Willow, if I rode my S1 there and it needed a front tire, would I be able to buy one from the Dunlop folks and they'd install it? Also would they have street oriented types to choose from or do they have mostly track/race tires? |

Sparky - you'd have to call ahead to ask them to put a street tire on board. They are only going to have racing DOT's without prior arrangements. You'll have to pull the wheel. http://www.erionracing.com/ |

Enjoy the ride for the moment! Y'all stepped up when we really needed it. I think we are mostly covered. I'll cover the rest. I don't want to take advantage of all the good will and generosity here until it's unavoidable. I hope that there will some of the Badweb gang at the track to represent. You're all part of the team! Factory Ohlins forks are off to Traxxion Dynamics to get AK Gas internals on loan. Thanks Max!!! I don't think they will be back in time for this race, but we'll be ready to rock next season. |

Forgive me for being obtuse regarding the upcoming event. The Toyota Formula 1 Road Race is scheduled for Nov. 19 & 20th not the 12 & 13th. So y'all are not gonna be there tomorrow, huh? (Message edited by Sparky on November 13, 2011) |

Ozzie - for some reason there had been general confusion. WSMC race is ALWAYS 3rd Sunday of each month. (NOT always the 3rd weekend) |

I'm guilty of being confused, too. There were no dates posted until later in the thread. Harmless omission. Kick some backsides, guys! |

Timing is available in real time (when it works) - but you have to download the program used (and it's blocked here at work) Google "RMonitor" The port settings USED TO BE Port Number: 5000. Internal IP: 192.168.1.198. External IP: 66.97.209.211. |

I'm working on a real time video stream. The issue is the tracks net connection speed. There is a solution, but it is not cheap as it involves using 3 to 5 3G cell connections simultaneously. I probably won't have this until next year and I'll need a sponsor to make it financially feasible. But it is in the works. |

Weather map shows 60% chance of rain on Sunday. I'll be checking with Dunlop to see if that will effect their plans. |

Dunlop ALWAYS has R**ns in stock. Shawn can REALLY take advantage of marginal conditions. Everybody here should realize that the Toyota F1 race is NO RESTRICTIONS except 2 wheels. On the big track, HP is king at that level but being able to manage the machine in marginal conditions can REALLY work to Shawn's advantage (even with a bike not yet fully sorted) KICK ASS GUYS! |

With the addition of offset steering head bearings, lighter slipper clutch springs, assorted rear sprockets and quick shifter, we should be able to get a pretty good setup. BTW, I just found out that last month Shawn set a new track record of 1:14.427 at the Streets. This might be the first track record for the 1190RS |

>>>BTW, I just found out that last month Shawn set a new track record of 1:14.427 at the Streets. You must surely mean a track record for the EBR. But . . .just imagine how fast those sexy Italian things must be! Amazing. |

Court - we're talking a Motorcycle TRACK RECORD for Streets of Willow set by Higbee on the Crotchrocket.TV machine: http://my.wsmcracing.com/ul/file/Nov11NewsRev6.pdf Second paragraph, page one |

I'm moderately impressed by Shawn setting the track record on an 1190 (I expected nothing less of him and that bike). Doing it when he is new to the bike, and before it gets any racing development? OK, NOW you have my attention. Next seasons AMA superbike is going to be good! |

quote:Higbee, who set a new track record in F1 with 1:14.427 in his final lap finished a half second ahead of Dave Anthony (#225), last month’s F1 winner and nearly 9 seconds faster than Bryce Prince (#174) who finished in third in the October outing.
I can't believe that . . . you're trying to say that Shawn set a record for ANY motorcycle on the track? Do they restrict brands? What if a person wanted to bring one of those exotic Italian bikes, say an MV Agusta, Ducati or perhaps and Aprilla? Hoe do you think Shawn would fare against them if they were allowed in the mix? |
