Would have been helpful to know that you'd altered the front end geometry from the start. Slip your mind? : ?

Kudos to Rogue_Biker for his excellent spot-on analysis!

Blake,

Read my comment (6th posting) on

I had made that adjustment from the recommendations of sport rider magazine during their test ride setup.

If you want to be a smart a$$ it would be to your advantage to take the time and read the posts so you don't look so foolish. Regards...

Forgive me for not deciphering your comment stating "I've had the tubes flush since about 1000 mi." :/

My '08 and '09 1125r's handled decent(I can't say either handles better than my '02 748).I changed the exhaust(FMF slip on)on the '09 and the handling went to hell. All sorts of fiddling. Before the exhaust change it was set according to the owners manual, and like I said it was decent. After, I was chasing getting it to turn in and hold a line.To the point of contemplating reinstalling the stock exhaust.

How the heck can an exhaust change alter the handling? That has WTF alarm all over!

In 2009 Motorcycle USA did a comparison of naked bikes--they tested the Buell 1125CR, the Ducati Street Fighter, and the KTM Superduke. They chose the 1125CR because it was the best overall. They loved the handling and the ease at which it could be ridden fast. They also did a comparison between the 2009 1125R versus the Kawasaki ZX6R to see how these compare based on the new Superbike rules. Again, they preferred the 1125R due to its excellent handling.

Just saying.....nothing wrong with this bike's overall handling. If it isn't working for you there is something else wrong and it is NOT the bike's inherent qualities. Most likely set up. But I've ridden a few 1125R's with stock set up and every single one of them handled great!

I find my 1125R is also very sensitive to tire pressure. It's cold here in the mornings these days (just above freezing); and in those mornings, the bike is very hard to steer, wants to stand up. Once the tires warm up; it's like it's old self again.

+1 Sugarbear.

Just a couple of pounds PSI can make a HUGE difference. Check tire pressure frequently!

+2 tire pressure is huge. I can tell if my front drops below 30 psi just by steering effort in the corners.
