Blake,Jgarner99 - we are on the same page, the primary difference is that I believe everyone has a voice, no matter how vile. How do you get anyone to the table without respect? Anti-semites deny the WWII holocaust too.

Christian churches that ignore the Old Testament turn out spiritual and intellectual midgets that can't see through the anti-semitic/nazi dogma. Oddly enough these haters profess strong Christian beliefs... They somehow forget that the Jews were Gods 'chosen ones' and that Jesus was a Jew. Kind of like killing the breed of goose that lays golden eggs.

The haters in Germany use codes in the banners seen in the German news media. My sister has lived in Germany for over 30 years. The codes used in Germany are the same as those used in the Pacific Northwest. It's international.

Curve Carver,
You never said if you need the levers, or if you just wanted them?
If you need them, then it should be okay to buy the Chinese levers, if you just want them, it is not okay to buy them.
Buell needed the Chinese parts to finish the production of their motorcycles, this seems to be acceptable on here, so the same rules should apply to you or any other consumer if parts are needed, not wanted.
Strange thought process on here!

I need to catch up on some research, I never knew China was an Islamic Nation, nor did I know Hong Kong was in the Middle East, when did this happen?
Has all of the Jewish People moved to China too?
"HONG KONG LEVERS", I'm not making the connection?

What church does that? I hope you aren't referencing what I said because it you are you got it all wrong. I really have no clue what you are talking about here. What church sanctions hating the Jews? Any Christian who hates the Jews is relying on faulty history or has gotten that hatred from somewhere else because the New Testament encourages the exact opposite. Where YOU are making a mistake is relating what some false church is preaching with what the New Testament itself contains. This is the exact reason why there ARE radical Christians who have in the past bombed abortion clinics...they are radical because they aren't following what their book preaches. The difference with Islam and its "radicals" is that they ARE following what their book preaches...they are fulfilling their "holy" duties to allah and Islam.

Blake: We're not too sure. I contacted the mayor of the village we are from a year or so ago to get any information I could and all he could tell me was that some of the "old timers" in the village seem to remember people with my last name, but that most of them had left for America/Canada around the turn of the century. From what I understand of Lebanese history, the end of the Ottoman's rule there left it a pretty terrible place to be...as seems to be the case with most Christian areas being invaded or ruled by Moslem empires. I have a couple friends who have invited me to stay with their family if I ever go over so it may happen one of these days.

Drawkward - In the 80's I searched out the most conservative churches I could find in my area... >>>there ARE radical Christians who have in the past bombed abortion clinics...they are radical because they aren't following what their book preaches.

yes, Radical Muslims and Radical Christians create rancor and make distortions to influence people.

About 10 years ago I went to a civil war reinactment at a state park with a group of HD guys I met at a bar. These guys shared their racial and anti-semitic animus without reservation while defining themselves as christians... That was my last ride with that group.

Why do the nazi types profess christianity? IDK. Talk radios rancor and paranoia spilling over?

Danny,

You don't make sense to me, at all.

>>> Blake,Jgarner99 - we are on the same page,

I sure am relieved to hear that!

>>> the primary difference is that I believe everyone has a voice, no matter how vile.

Sure everyone has a voice, just as we all have ears. Neither of those facts is a mandate requiring that we provide all a podium to speak and be heard here on BadWeB. I reject that notion most strongly. See if congress will let the man speak on record there. He can have his internet site, or go to the public square. He cannot have a podium here, nor should we approve of his speech here, "nice links". That still has me quite puzzled. Your brain may be rotting from an overdose of moral relativism. It cannot discern right from wrong, or good from evil. Work on that.

>>> How do you get anyone to the table without respect?

Why should we want to provide a seat at the table to everyone? Why should we respect lies? Why should we wish to associate with fools? Most importantly, why should we praise blatant lies and those who propagate them?

If you stand for nothing, you'll end up falling for everything.

All that evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

>>> Anti-semites deny the WWII holocaust too.

Yes they do. We don't allow them a podium here either. : )

>>> Radical Muslims and Radical Christians create rancor and make distortions to influence people.

You forgot the radical nazis, radical atheists, radical marxists, radical militant types of any stripe. It's disappointing to see time and time again the accusations of moral equivalency between Christianity and islamism. Despite reality clearly to the contrary, the intent seems clear, demonize Christians while making out like islamism is okay.

Which do you reckon accounts for the vase vast majority of murder and intentional attacks against innocent civilians in the past decade?

How acts of murder have their been in the last decade targeting abortion clinics? What, three? No, just two? How many???

Wise up!

Danny, I know you may be using the term "radical Muslim" now just to mess with us, but I implore you to do your own research on the Quran and the Hadiths along with the known history of how Islam started and propagated. It will help you understand the world a little better.

As for this debate, I think it's pretty much simmered all the fat off...

I learned that a lot of people fear Muslims, their suicide violence is everywhere.

many people have very strong opinions about the hatred coming out of the Koran. people seem to overlook the kill everyone hatred coming out of the old testament. It was pointed out that there weren't any Christian suicide bombers threatening civil society in every corner of the world.

CIA's world factbook total population literacy(male & female 15+years):
afghanistan-------------28.1%
iran--------------------77.0%
iraq--------------------74.1%
egypt-------------------71.4%
pakistan----------------49.9%

There seems to be a direct relationship between literacy and civil behavior.

>>> people seem to overlook the kill everyone hatred coming out of the old testament.

You've not learned a thing.

What you fail to grasp due to the brain rot of moral relevancy you embrace, is that Christians are not a threat to anyone these days.

Plenty of other nations with very low, much lower literacy that aren't embroiled in incessant violence or sponsors of terrorism. Nice of you to ignore them. The 70+% of three of the islamists nations you note isn't so bad relative to the rest of the world.

Your about a half click from retirement here Danny. Wise up or depart. I'm tired of the trolling.

Duphuckincati You may have touched all the other bases IDK. :-)

I said I learned something and thanked everyone. I meant it. There is such a diversity of opinion right here, I'm amazed and impressed that some of the folks here have studied these matters for years and years. It is not everyday a guy runs into a pack of religious scholars.

Danny,
I don't want to poke a stick into the embers of this finally-cooling thread... But, to back up your contention that Christianity is hateful, you cite how you took a ride with some H-D guys who "shared their racial and anti-semitic animus without reservation while defining themselves as christians."
Seems to me that story says more about tough-guy wannabes on Harleys, than it does about Christians.

It also illustrates how some are all too eager to hold up any example, no matter how obscure or minority in character compared to the overall population of Christians in order to defame Christianity.

But when it comes to islamists... It is the religion of peace.

It's a #$@!ed up way of figuring things.

Bigots suck whether they call themselves Christians, atheists, muslims, or what have you.

Down with evil!

Jgarner99 - some people are followers, the cattle, sheep those most likely to accept the direction of: the herd, talk radio, churches, leaders.... Not very independent thinkers.

Blake - no sarcasm, totally sincere, good stuff.

Tunisia is 98% Muslim, just ousted their president in a bloodless revolution a few weeks ago. Egypt is 90% Muslim didn't do as well. The Egyptian desire for change was almost bloodless, the protesters remained civil throughout.

The civility shown by Tunisia and Egypt is a noteworthy and admirable example of relatively peaceful political change to the world.

Hope is in short supply in many parts of the world. This has to raise everyones hopes! Will there be less people losing hope, willing to die??? Some people are followers... What will happen next is anyones guess.

Tunisia and Egypt were not religiously inspired revolutions. The Iranian revolution was religiously inspired with self flaggelation, all kinds of unusual ritual in the streets...

President Bush said America's presence in the middle east would bring democracy to that part of the world. perhaps he was right!

Drawkward - Forgive me if this seems strident, but you're wrong there.

Egyptian islam is way different than that practiced in Iran.

Sunni/Sufi vs. Shia.

It's roughly akin to protestant v catholic.

In iran, they had the Ayatolloah -- think of him as a "crazy pope" who swooped in from his hideout in France to galvanize the masses around one clear anti-west mission.

In Egypt, the seeds of the rebellion were not about ousting a westernized "puppet" (the Shah) who was "owned by the CIA and US-based Oil companies" (their rhetoric) and his evil secret police--Savak. In Egypt, it's a broad-based populist rebellion having to do with good old-fashioned motivations like freedom, economic opportunity, and the right to fall in with a heated mob and beat/rape hottie CBS journalists.

; )

Sorry, that was in bad taste, albeit true.

Anyway, the Muslim Brotherhood and their wacko cronies are gonna want a seat at the table, but it's not gonna be THEIR table.

The vast majority of Egyptians see themselves as Egyptians first, Muslims second. they see their relationship with Allah as a personal one (akin to Protestant canon) and not a socio-political one (parallel again: there's never been a "Protestant Empire" in the way there has been a Roman Catholic one).

And if you compare the way Egyptians practice Islam compared to the fundamentalist Wahhabi of Saudi (also Sunni in a general sense, but structured/stratified in ways that are very much like Shia), then you find they are less likely to radicalize around anti-west sentiment and life by Shari'a. Most Egyptians with access to power there (especially the large, educated, motivated middle class that DROVE this rebellion) don't wanna walk around like it's 1387. They wanna wear Hugo Boss and have sex with pretty girls who wear skirts not Burkhas... and maybe share a glass of wine or two in the process. The technocrats in civil service, in business, in the military there are all kind of similar. They don't wanna live in an ostracized muslim theocracy any more than you or I do.
They want to be relevant on the world stage economically. They wanna enjoy their lives. They wanna grow their tourist trade.
They wanna be Brazil... without the mardi gras pasties.

At least I hope that's still the case... (it certainly WAS the case when Sadat got assassinated by the MB in 1981 and there was no revolution... his 2nd in command just stepped in and stayed till last week.)
