I'm in a pickle and can't decide....
Do I just have my stock pipe modified by Keda....
Or cough up a few more benjamins for something nicer....

I want that muscle tone without the race track volume and I want to keep the exhaust under the bike....

Go!

Buy the KEDA. I bought the RT 2 and could not be happier with it. The sound is a bit loud but not overwhelming and the look of the exhaust is one of the best looking for the 1125R/CR in my opinion. Plus, the power gains are pretty significant. If its too loud, Dean is working on a quite core. Its a win, win all around if you ask me.....

What kind of riding do you do? Commuting, long trips, weekend warrior, track days?

I usually found myself riding locally but as of last year I started riding 300 miles twice in a week. Prior to this I enjoyed the hmf systems. I noticed on these longer rides that with and without earplugs I found myself sleepy during the rides. As soon as I got off the bike I was fine. Hop back on and ride 100 more and I was sleepy again? I realized after I removed the pipe the problem was too much noise. The hum of the pipe was actually putting me to sleep. In town, no problem . Long rides, mmmmmmmm made me sleepy. This is just my two cents and observation. Inlines can be just as bad stock without an aftermarket pipe. :-)

Father: I have been eyeballing the RT-3, just dont want another loud pipe like the FMF I had. But honestly i think the looks of the FMF bothered me more than the sound.

Buellrider: I know, i know, its brought up all the time... just good to get fresh or new opinions - i know what i like musically, and i dont talk politics or religion because i care to discuss neither.

Curve carver: I commute on my bikes (CR and XB9S) 75% of the year, my average long trip is about 3-4 hours, longer ones are rare but do happen, definitely out on weekends ripping it up, no track days but its not out of the question in the future.

I think if the Torque Hammer was a little more aesthetically pleasing it would be perfect.

I like the way the factory pipe leaves the bottom filled in with a flat line on the bottom.

07xb, In all seriousness, if the stock exhaust didn't diffuse all over the rear brake, it would still be on mine. I like what some have done to modify the flow by adding turnouts but the sound didn't change much. I do like like the FMF sound and look...
I guess it gets back to what trips your trigger.

On the Kedas.... whats the difference between the RT1, 2, 3, and 4. they all have the same claim, but different prices

The RT-1 & 2 are about 11 lbs. The RT-3 is about 8.5 lbs. The RT-4 is just a bit under 13 lbs.
For reference, I think the cf jardine is about 7 or 7.5 lbs.

As far as the claimed hp/torque goes, it's not just a claim, it was tested and proven at the exhaust shootout last year.
http://www.americansportbike.com/1125_Exhaust_Test _Text.ZIP

The difference is simply the materials and amount of time it takes to make it. The RT-4 takes 2x longer to make and has more parts to it.

all of the aftermarket systems had too much volume for me. i had Dean work his magic on my stock can, and am very pleased with the resulting MT-1.
it still fills in the bottom of teh bike, and service techs arent going to say that it voids my warranty. it has 'thump' with out being obnoxiuos. it wont need to be re-packed. ever.

hope this helps you decide

07xb12s you might want to buy a used pipe off flee bay. There's two things you can benefit from doing so. One you can try a louder pipe and decide whether it's to your likes. Two ,you won't be out 800 or 1800 for a buell system. If you decide a pipe is what you want after a couple thousand miles then go all out. A pipe off eBay used wont cost much. And flipping shouldn't be a problem. I heard an xb with a drummer and it sounded great. The 1125 IMHO sounds like a train wreck with any pipe. At first it was okay. After 7k it was annoying. It also made me sleepy. Oh one last thing I do enjoy is my mp3. With the pipe on it made the music hard to hear. I also enjoy hearing my engine. With the pipe on I couldn't enjoy all the rattling noises. :-)

DRUMMER!!!! Kevin is an awesome guy that builds an awesome exhaust. His customer service is the BEST. My pipe has the new core wrap he just got and it sounds better than before and I didn't think that could be possible.
