ya, at -26 last winter i had to give mine an extra jolt for awhile to get it going. took alot of doing, but she fired and chugged away ever so slowly but finally smoothed out.

but even in the high 20's it starts to drag hard to get started. im sure a fair amount of it has to do with the high compression and the thick oil...

Below freezing this morning, EB_R ecm was showing the CT COLD message, it's set at 0 deg.C, my OEM ecm is set at 65 deg.C, it took me about a dozen tries to get her started. She was not happy, may try adding some fuel to the cold start up, either that or emigrate. Global warming! blatant false advertising, I want my money back.

engine block heater... it is your friend... ive got a magnetic one that gets used on the cars once in awhile when its REALLY REALLY cold, but obviously that it isnt going to want to stick to aluminum crank cases. if need be im sure i could come up with some way to rest it against the case to transfer some heat to the oil and make one easier to start. or they make in line radiator hose ones also(not sure how small they go though.)

It was 18 degrees in Alabama this morning and I was very toasty on my way into work with my heated gloves and jacket.

27 this morning, bike started fine but keep a small heater and fan pointing at it to keep her somewhat warm. Cold though on the ride, but hands were fine (thanks to heated grips), rest was okay. Gusty winds though made it more misarble for sure.

Snow on ground here with temps below 0C. So, riding season is over. Sadly, got my bikes here to late to even get the end of riding season. Oh well, both are in my garage on the tenders.

Five below zero this morning. I'm not even going to think about starting my bikes until it's at least 35 above. Got 20w50 oil in both. These old bones can't take the cold like they used to anyway.

well I changed the race ecm to match the oem ecm for cold start up enrichment and duration from -5deg C to 22deg C, still freezing this morning but this time she started first try with no problem at all, just hoping I do not get to test it at any lower temperatures.

new twist on the cold. my ignition lock was iced this morning. had to use my lighter to heat the key just to get it to go all the way into the lock. then reheat it to actually be able to turn it...

I never understood why such places are inhabited at all. There are way, way better choices.

It's going to be 72+F in Dallas tomorrow. I'm planning to go to the track!

It was 29F when I rode to work. Had the Gerbings set at 3/4, and I was never cold. The new Shark helmet doesn't hardly fog at all, and only sitting at a light. Voltage dropped to 13.7, but never below.

It doesn't stay cold here in Colorado all winter.
Almost 50 at 8:30 am, headed for the mid-upper 60s today.
Day after tomorrow - snow and a high of 41

Good day for a ride today tho. : )
