Does anyone know how to reset the service counter on the 1125R. I took her into Harley a few weeks ago and they didn't reset the service counter to zero. So, right now it says to service now.

Turn the key on, push both the toggle and mode buttons (hold them for a few seconds) until the service menu comes up. Toggle through the menu until you get to service, go into that submenu. Reset it, done.

+1.

Hold both buttons on key-on, go into Diag mode. Toggle through, follow the instructions.

Works every time for me.

(it's also in the owners' manual)

Joe -
Go into Set-up Mode, not Diagnostic.

Father-of. start the bike then hold down Mode and Select until Set Up appears.
Scroll thru to service counter, reset, EXIT set-up mode and you're good.

From the Owners manual link at the top of the page : )

Refer to Regular Service Intervals: 2008 Buell 1125R Models. A reset causes the service odometer to advance to the next service interval. Any service reminder messages displayed during startup are also cleared.

With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.

See Resetting the Service Odometer. Press the Mode switch to advance to the SERVICE COUNTER menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.

Press the Toggle switch to display MODE TO RESET.

NOTE:

Pressing the Toggle switch again will exit the Service Clear menu item without resetting the service odometer. A SERVICE NOT RESET message will be displayed.

To reset the service odometer, press the Mode switch. A SERVICE RESET message is displayed.

The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

You didn't go too far. That is the next scheduled service. First one at 620 miles then every 6200 miles thereafter.
