Question,

In the sheet below you see the tune I made for Our Stage II KIT:

whatch this it is a stock bore.. 1125. stock heads not flowed and no bigger valves, that is ment for our stage III

Then I read a article about EB and the specs and i noticed that the 1190 makes 185 BHP. andc 93 ft/lb on the crank

We make 160 HP SAE and 92 ft/lb on the rear wheel, That is more power or am i loosing something here.

I always thought that there Power was rear wheel measured.

did anybody ever dynoed a 1190 and can post a sheet?.

I was getting 2 articles and reading these article of I believe Andy Downs from MCS who writes exclusivly for Erik About the Erik Buell Racing new Road bike, that was telling that the 1190RR makes 185 BHP then in the second article Erik states the 1190RR Race Bike numers and again it says 185bhp and 93 ft/lb.

So fresno you say erik is talking bullshit or MCS, I only tell what power i made on a dyno in the USA with our stuff.

Guys there is only 65cc difference between the 1125 and the 1190. so a tune on a 1125 should be able to beet a stock 1190. reading in the MCN this week the figures are showing that the 1190 is producing 160bhp and 85ftlb. do you think that the 185 figures are for a tuned bike? ie race ecm

Isn't Easyrider's company a sponsor here? If he has paid for that right, then he can self-promote all he wants to. As with ANY product, CAVEAT EMPTOR.

At least from what I've seen he backs it up with dyno runs, technical specifics and attempts to be as transparent as possible when explaining his products while not shying away from the many attacks he receives here.

I have questions;

First, is there a street version of the 1190R? Side question, are the reliability issues fixed?
Second if above is true, then is it possible that the street version with a pump gas friendly compression ratio only makes about 160hp at the wheel while the 14.25:1 compression ratio makes the 185hp at the wheel as stated on the Erik Buell Racing website?
Third, what all is in the stage II kit and stage III kit?
I clicked the link above and only found a log in screen. Thanks for answering the questions.

hey easy...here's an idea, why dont you go ask Erik Buell Racing for yourself, i know from talking with them its 185RWHP...and ya the street 1190 may be less powerful but its NOT a race bike at that point after you factor in EPA and all that other crap there is no race exhaust, tune, etc, so no **** its not gonna make as much power.

oh and would you ever think a MAGAZINE would get info wrong?? ya i can think of COUNTLESS errors in magazine articles that would fall under this category...so yes i imagine the magazine was wrong.

btw congrats on your power gains, but i think ill trust the man who MADE the bike...

yes, its late, and im a bit cranky lol.

GO BUELL!!

This thread has put the icing on the cake for me, I became a member of this site for information on the buells as I have only owned Jap bikes & all I have read is whinging, bitching & bagging whether its of the bike itself (get over it & enjoy the bike) or someone else trying to inform, get info or other wise.

There are to many know it alls here & if you all stopped bagging other peoples opinions & ideas about the 1125's & combined all resources for all to use & share life would be good.

There are plenty of other tuners that would give E-BR a run on all aspects of fuel injection even over here in Aus & i bet they would, but that dont matter.

There are other countries outside of the US that can do things aswell you & alot of very talented people inside the US that are happy to share their wisdom & knowledge to help other out. Dave, Mike, Gunter ect..

Im done & dusted enjoy your sook site.. We have a saying in Australia... Seppo's.. look it up.. LIFE IS TO SHORT... peace out..

Anyone who says that the manufacturer is the only person who can tune their own is full of BS.... I have seen on numerous occasions outsiders making a companies car or motorcycle better and then watched the FACTORY adopt said improvements.... I'm not bagging either of these people, both easy and Erik Buell Racing have done nothing but opened up different facets of the bike many of us have grown to love. I went an even different direction than most here by trying out the PC V, I guess I'm out of my mind too.....

With the addition of cams, pistons and a tune that is pretty dam impressive. I have no desire to hear the debate over who makes what power wise, don't care either. What I enjoy seeing is the evolvement (?word, evolution maybe) of the 1125. Combine this with some head work as well as a displacement change and the potential is there for our V-Twins to make the power of the Inline 4's. Even at 160 to the wheel is where my previous 06 GSXR was.

Knowing the little I do of Easyrider I really don't think he was bashing Erik Buell Racing but rather showing how his numbers compared to those listed for the 1190. Erik Buell Racing builds AMA bikes which have to be built within a set of rules which equals limitations. I have no doubt Erik Buell Racing could build a high hp bike if the demand was there and there were no limitations.

Another decent thread turned to crap.

Hey Easy,

I think what you missed is that Erik Buell Racing's site calls for 185/93 at the wheel not the crank. The article probably miswrote that it was power at the crank.

Your right if his numbers were at the crank, you would prob be makin more power.

Sorry to see you go Kicka666. I'm right behind you out the door, though.

This place can really suck with a few pussies that hide behind their keyboards and ruin the environment for everybody with their negative, pointless drivel.

They very likely don't know a damn thing other than what they READ (i.e. never been there, never done anything), and probably don't know how to ride well either. All the while giving advice as if they are THE oracle on all things 2-wheels.

If only we could all actually meet up in person from time to time, this virtual world would be a MUCH different place.

BTW - http://buellxb.com/ is apparently a much more civil place to discuss Buell enthusiasm.

Try attending a Homecoming.

I've been to 2 now and have put a LOT of faces with BWB names each time.
There really are a lot of VERY GOOD people in this group and EVERY person I've met is someone I want to see again.

Zack - that's a good point. Unfortunately, 22 hours is beyond my travel limit, but I commend you on making the 15 hour trip. Unfortunately, those I'm lambasting would likely not attend even if given the opportunity, in order to maintain their internet anonymity.

I'll stop being the type of person I'm criticizing and get back to the original post, sort-of:

Easyrider - I assume that during your US visit and dyno sessions, you have scheduled some dyno time for your new velocity stacks with various tunes? I know you have an interest in selling your own tuning options, but I would venture to say that if your new stacks showed significant gains with the E_B_R Race ECMs you would experience a definite spike in sales to that segment. I for one am very interested in the performance of the new stacks combined with the E_B_R Race ECM tuned for a FMF slip-on.

Thank you.

I had no idea there was Buell gathering in Suches. Is that at the T.W.O resort? Where is the info on that meet?

Before my son was born this summer, I was going to the Smoky Mountains about 6-8 times a year. I even posted videos of my Blood Mountain run with a buddy on an R1 after coming over from T.W.O. in Suches.

Where is the info on that? If the wife lets me I would for sure love to blast up Ga 17/19, Richard Russel Scenic Highway, then up through Franklin and the back way to the Gap with a bunch of Buellers. I'll bring the XB9 and the 1125R - hopefully with Easyrider's dyno-proven velocity stacks (just to keep this thread somewhat on track).

It does seem to me too that Easyrider is and has called Er Bu Ra (wonder if this will avoid the autolaunch link)liers. Not sure why, but I have read many posts from him hinting strongly at that. Dynos always vary; it is best to compare on the same dyno with the same operator and make sure the operator knows what he is doing. Come out to the track and run against an 1190RR would be my call. Harald Kitsch is running one in Europe and that should be an easy reach for Easyrider to bring his bike and rider. Or run against Geoff May in the US. Heck he only has an 1125. Don't think there is a street legal 1190RR, and a tuned bike is also no longer a legal street bike either. Weird OP strategy it seems to me.

On internet people say à lot about other peole, that is 2010, come out the cave

i Am only interested in making more power and make good parts that people can buy for à normal price.

It has never been my intention to talk negative about Erik Buell Racing, let that be clear, without his passion, and my passion for his products i wasnt even here i write à little in black and white style, cause most off the time i Am in à hurry, we are now driving to bonneville i stopped after 7 hours And go fot à sleep in the back of THE car.

Have fun all And say. Whatever is on your hart, this is

do.

Imonabuss: that will be my call too. The Buell Pegasus Experience Trackdays and races in Oschersleben Germany will be the event to see what both bikes are up to.
http://www.pegasusraceteam.com/
Because of not entering the Ducati club races in Assen Holland we haven't been able to see Dris his bike this year on the track. A track comparision of the 1190, 1125RR and other buells tells me more than a dyno graph. Erik Buell will be there to witness. What more publicity do you want?

I am going to go out on a limb here but I believe Easyrider is referring purely to the power his Stage II bike puts to the rear wheel vs. what a 1190 puts down.
Nowhere is he referring to the outright performance of the bike as a total package or more so; a racetrack showdown (where the rider accounts for upwards of 75% of the total performance equation). Lets not get carried away with insinuations and accusations, we're all on here for the same reasons.
