I am wondering if anyone on here has truthfully took the rpm's up any any gear besides first gear. And not been a competition.(drag race..etc.) I myself have not been past the 6,500 mark.in any gear. It shows on most power graphs that majority of the power is around 9,000 to 9,500 rpm. Is this true?

I've red lined both my R and CR every gear except 6th.

It is an awesome rush.

IF YOUR BIKE IS STOCK not mapped then the power is in the higher rpm range thats when it comes a live just rev it they love it i have a cr for the road stock and you have to rev it

It is rare, but I do exceed 5000rpms once in a while, and it is an amazing rush of power all the way up to redline. It has so much power I personally find it to be useless for the street as anything more than a quick burst will put you in the woods.

I can officially say that I am now at 7,200rpm in 4th and it really does like a little higher rpm. Just not ready for red line yet.

Agreed. Crack the throttle W/O in 2nd and by the time you stop grinning and shift to 3rd you have lost your license.

Yes it's true, and yes you're looking at ~65mph in 2nd gear...

The change from XB (or most H-D variants) to 1125 takes a little getting used to.

Typically the XB is in the 3000-5000 range, sounds good, runs strong. Double that for the 1125. When I first got the 1125 the tendency was to run a gear higher so the rpm "felt right". After riding the 1125 for a while, now I have to watch it on the XB as I now tend to run nearer to redline.

wow I really thought that I had a big PAIR. To run the up to 100. Well around here the roads are not good enough to maintain the speeds.

Ya...10k in third (or fourth!) on the CR is a LOT of fun. Rev it up, they LOVE it that way. This ain't your aircooled 1200! (Froggy's right - going back and forth from a 1200 to an 1125 takes some conscious effort and thought as far as riding style).

Your joking right? Not running it past 6500 rpm? The 1125R is beautiful in the higher rpm range. It gets up there fast, when I first started riding the bike I always hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear. Its there before you know it.

Seriously. Go find yourself a wide open, no cross-roads back road, and open it up. Not the flip-flop wearing, kamikazi infinite wheelie kinda stupid thing, but under controlled circumstance. Find a way to play with what ya got.

On the track I'm absolutely wrapping this thing out in 2nd and 3rd all the time, and getting there in 4th. As others have said, at 11k redline (race ECM) in 4th, the bike is moving very, very fast.

If my motor is ever found under a pyramid 1,000 years from now, scientists will definitely wonder why 2-4 are all chipped up, and 5th and 6th look new. It's just the nature of the tracks around here.

The engineers who designed the upper rpm limits of the engine wouldn't have put that little redline on your tach at 10,000 if it couldn't do it!In fact i am an engineer and i know as for a margin of error or a degree of safety and longevity most engineers rate most limits of designs within 80% max of what the engine or what ever can actually do. I am also an ASE master tech and know most all cars and bikes will even handle about 1000 rpm's past that redline from personal experience:P, that is approx 90%, just my two cents.

Unlikely -- I'll be at Eagle's Canyon.

I've not ridden MSRH yet -- it's a long drive for me.

I find this thread quite interesting - it certainly illustrates the demographic split of 1125 riders. Some come from hardcore sportbike backgrounds and others straight from (American) cruisers. Equally interesting is the fact both types of riders love thier 1125's... Can't think of a big IL4 that would illicit the same response

my 1125r will tink 172 at the top of 6th at the 10,500 redline. havent caught the revlimiter in 6th on the cr but been damn close... alot of turbulance on that thing though.

and when i had it on the dyno once, peak horsepower was at 10,200rpm.
