Well my bike finally got the clutch weep. I knew it was goin to happen just a matter of time. Here is my problem:
Put the bike in the shop 3 weeks ago. Parts will not be sent out until June 9th. Dealer should have them within 1 week, bit I move on June 1st out of state the dealer that is near were I am moving is not one that I trust. Can anyone do a search and see if a dealer near them has parts in stock. If they do I will pay shipping if they can send them to my dealer in Virginia Beach. Or any other advice you all may have is welcome.

Thanks in advance
Jimmy

Jimmy - I'm in "Parts" at a dealer.
I can do a rough check on the network, but not all "hits" have the part.

Last I checked, the clutch cover is the only part backordered, R1029A.1AM.
So, if it is only cosmetically damaged, get a bottle of touch-up paint and keep your cover.
The kit will work on a RevA cover, you have an 08 R right?

Get the X2086.1AM piston/liner kit and be done with it
09JUN10 is only a PROJECTED backorder release date...

I have a couple of customers who are waiting for the new cover, so you are very not alone..
Oh yeah - Semper Fi!
Thanks.

Zack

What happens if you epoxy the weep hole and wait for the part while steal riding Anyone!

The weep hole is after the seals so plugging it won't help at all!

if you plug up the weep hole, wouldn't it eventually allow the pressure to build up inside the cover and prevent the seals from leaking any fluid out?

why do you suppose that Buell / rotax would go to the trouble to put a weep hole in the cover? perhaps the hydraulic fluid ( brake fluid ) may not be compatible with internal clutch parts? or the oil

In my experience seals do not quit leaking if pressure is applied to the side opposite the sealing side,

good luck getting that epoxy out of the hole....

Zac, it is only the clutch cover I am waiting on. No damage at all to it, I will let my dealer know what you said. Thanks for all the help.

The "weep" hole isn't a "weep" hole at all. It is a vent hole. It allows the piston to move in and out without creating air pressure.

You got HD to pay for the Rev B cover? The cover is not part of the solution to the weep. You only need the X2086.1AM kit for the fix.

Yea but just because they were changing them didn't mean it fixed the issue. : )
